Here's a picture of an inexpensive way to do it. Those angled power strips are expensive but this is just more work with everyday outlets.

What I actually did was super cheap. I wanted a mirrored backsplash to add light to the kitchen, so I had the outlets installed inside the cabinets. After all, how was I going to get outlets cut in that mirror?
I got recessed boxes. Then I plugged very short power strips into the outlet, drilled a hole in the bottom of the cabinet and mounted the powerstrip under the cabinet. It works and you can't see it. Most stuff in the kitchen stays plugged in all the time so there's no need to make the outlet easy to find. Hide it.
If I did it over again, I'd probably add a switch so I could shut off the kitchen (except fridge) at night, to save drip energy to those appliances that are always on.
Here's a picture of the mirror backsplash. Can you find the hanging powerstrip on the left before I mounted it under the cabinet?

Great article. This question is for Albert Angulo. I'm in the process of replacing my thermostat and read your comment about sensors that can be painted over and all. I've been searching but I've not been able to find a thermostat that is wi-fi, works with iPhone, and has the remote sensor that I can paint over. Ideally I would put the thermostat part in the hall closet and the sensor where the current thermostat is and primarily use the iPhone to do what ever it is that I need to do. If you know of something that would be great. thank you.
