You can change almost anything in a rental, as long as you restore it to the ugly it was. So yes, you CAN paint walls, and yes, you can take down a hideous light, and hang something else until you leave, and you can hang it at the right height too. The table has a really muscular right-angled solidity to it. It’s wonderful... but I think that means you need some color and curves with the chairs! Judy’s suggestion seems to me like it matches too much with the table and doesn’t jnfuse life. I think the red west elm suggestion is a great one. Hey fellow chair lovers! So, i made a decision 😬 i ordered 2 arch chairs from Sarah Ellison. And I got the big hairy light 😅 we obviously went over budget on the chairs, but they were just exactly right for me. I love the molded seat and postmodern column legs against the tables curves. we’ll do a bench at the back side (still considering a built in) Pictures below of the chairs, the light and a little mock up I did.
