I can't tell what function the low brick walls are serving,(is that a patio area? a garden?) but I do know that I had a similar wall around a side patio of my house. That side of the house had drainage issues due to the slope of the land. One of the first things my landscaper did was take down part of the wall because it was basically acting as a corral for the pooling water. I wondered if your walls could also be corraling water close to your house, which is never a good thing. I would try not to paint the brick until you've at least experimented with pulling another color out of it. I agree with earlier posters about trying one of the tan/brown colors in the brick to paint the rest of the house, which will minimize the yellow you dislike so much. If that works, change your outdoor lights to something bronze-y and substantial. You could find some bronzed house numbers to place either vertically down the one structural pillar or horizontally in the triangular space above the garage. I had an orangey-peachy house in Baton Rouge, LA and I painted the back porch and door an opposite color on the color wheel - a beachy-seafoamy-light turquoise green. I loved it, but colorful houses are "done" there and this was 20 years ago. If any of your darker bricks go toward the red/maroon spectrum, a cranberry or maroon color could work well for a front door. You might have to make your pictures "public" in order for us to see them.

I was actually thinking of painting the shutters white, too, after I saw a picture of a green house with white shutters and it looked very nice. We also were going to close up the gable vents (the roof will have a ridge vent so we shouldn't need the gable vents, and bats like to hang from them and make a mess on the siding). I was thinking I could do some kind of accent siding in place of the gables, in some sort of color or even a stained wood type color (if the shutters were white).

Hmm....you guys might be right. I think the accent area (that is silver now) is too large of an area (going from top of second floor to botton of first floor) and thus intrudes as a result and almost makes it look like silver is the main house color (which obviously it's not). If you looked at a front profile of the house, the stone would take up the most space with the silver being second and the blue third, even though it's the color of the rest of the house. I've seen a house or two that was blue that had gray accents on the shakes but the shakes only were at the very top of the second story (they didn't come down all the way to the first floor). They were truly a small part of the front of the house...hence accent. Factor this in with the fact I have a cherry stained wood door and wanted to go with wood garage doors and having five colors (blue, gray, white, stone which is really a tannish, and then a dark wood) probably is too much.
