Four Winds or other suppliers ??
Comments (5)Yes...On Four Winds? The best citrus tree supplier I have ever ordered from. They take great care for their trees, and probably spend alot of time and money to keep them that healthy, shipped to you as healthy as can be!! Therefore, the high cost of shipping probably. But the extra I pay for shipping is worth the trees I get. Never had aproblem with any of them. All grow so well! The customer service is superb. You get great directions on care, and top notch packing, and quick delivery. That is the only place I shop now, even though I live all the way here in Mass. If you get more than one tree, you save on shipping.. Hope you find a good citrus source..:-)...See MoreFour Winds Trees Have Arrived
Comments (42)Laura, I look forward to seeing the pictures. Hobby, it was a Hirado Buntahn Pummelo. I have not received its replacement yet, but, asked that Harris ship it out with my new order that I placed last Thursday. I talked to Ruth yesterday after I did not receive a shipping date for the order. Harris is putting shipments on hold at least a week until the temperature cools down across the country. It has cooled down in my neck of the woods, but, still hot in other areas. So, hopefully next week. :) I am still hoping to get a Cocktail Grapefruit.. It could be back in stock in a few weeks. That is the one that I would like to get for the last of the year.. We shall see.. lol...See MoreLight sensitivity of Santa Teresa Lemon
Comments (19)Susanne, that is a lovely tree and the fruit is lovely also. What selection of Femminello cultivar do you have? Laura and I are both patiently waiting to get ripe fruit off of our trees and Laura asked the same questions that I am interested in learning about your trees. My ST lemons fell off ( last winter) just before turning yellow and they were a bit under developed, but the scent of the rind and the bit of juice I did get from two fruit was excellent. Like you, I used it in a dressing, but with olive oil and honey. Thank you for sharing your pictures and dressing recipe. It sounds lovely! :) Thank you, Silica and Mole. I appreciate the feedback. Laura, that ST is lovely and you are right, it is wide, but lovely all the same! :)...See MoreSanta Teresa lemon (FW entry) arrived!
Comments (80)All of my citrus are now in rootmaker knockoffs. After much research and debate, I decided to give them a try. I found relatively cheap ones and bought them in several different sizes, so I can pot up as necessary or customize to what I need, they’re essential expandable. I do worry a bit about the black plastic in the sun and I don’t know how well they hold up because it’s just thin sheets of injection mold plastic (I don’t recommend getting too close with your weed wacker - it does not boost longevity). I was pretty happy with my terra-cotta pots, plus I already own tons of them in various sizes, but the dense root systems that rootmaker style pots produce were pretty impressive. I’m hoping they’ll allow me to grow bigger, healthier citrus in containers....See MoreVladimir (Zone 5b Massachusetts)
