~About those whiskey soaked raisins...
Comments (27)Yes, the honey soothes the throat so the whiskey won't burn going down. You don't have to nuke it, just a second or two will warm it up. Little story: When my DD was about 2 years old she had a bad case of a croup-like cough, etc. Doc told me to give her the whiskey, honey, lemon juice mix. DH and I being tee-totalers created a problem. I knew the DH of one of our neighbors was not a TT, so I went down and knocked on the door. Wife answered and I asked her if she had any whiskey? She said No, Sue, but I have a beer in the fridge if you want it! I still laugh about that. HTH and tomorrow you will be chipper again. Sue...See MoreWhat currently hurts you on your body?
Comments (60)Hugs to all of you who are suffering. My knee that I broke is hurting because I am not walking like I used to because of the weather. I broke it slipping on ice and am not about to do that again just to get exercise. Going up and down the basement stairs to do laundry just about did me in because of the knee pain. I have swollen glands under my arms right now too that are a litte painful. Lydia, I know about that ovary pain and I am 51! I guess I will take it because all my friends are going through Menopause and are suffering more than I am. LOL Carol, let me tell you a little story about what happens when you swallow those raisins whole. LOLOL When my little niece Jennifer (now 34) was a toddler she ate some raisins. I had her on the change table the next day changing her diaper and she passed a little gas and out came a really plump looking golden grape. I was kind of shocked because she hadn't eaten any grapes then I remembered the bowl or raisins. LOL That little tiny raisin rehydrated itelf and came out as a grape. LOL I make sure I alway chew my raisins now. Poor Jenny will never live that story down. Anne...See MoreCherry Juice for Aches & Pains?
Comments (20)My father's doctor told him he must drink cherry juice for his condition so there must be some good scientific evidence of the properties that cherry juice has and it's effects. For those who have tried the "cherry juice remedy" and did not find any improvement, make sure you read the lables and are buying REAL cherry juice. My mother originally just grabbed stuff off the shelve from the grocery store. She doesn't bother reading lables to get the facts. She was buying those cherry flavored juice drinks. I have to inform her that things like 'Juicy Juice' and the other carp she was buying did not contain a speck of cherry. I bought a bottle of real cherry juice from the health food store and she nearly fainted at the price. You get what you pay for....See MoreSupplements for achy joints and muscles
Comments (70)I had shin splints once, terries. Wow, is that painful. Funny but I had them at the same time I was recovering from carpal tunnel surgery and everyone kept commiserating about my hand. My hand didn’t hurt at all but my shins were killing me. I actually got them from standing in too high heels on a stone patio for hours. Wish I’d known about turmeric then. Impressive that you do the Camino every year!...See Moreont_gal
