Air fryer
Comments (9)I use my air fryer more than any other appliance, other than my stove or microwave. Just made breaded shrimp tonight. I have never breaded my own things and used the fryer. I buy pre-breaded. It comes out crispy and non-oily tasting in about 20 minutes. I spray the basket with Pam or something similar. That's enough oil to make the frying action. I check ingredients when I shop. I try not to buy stuff that has been pre-cooked; only pre-breaded. That way, I'm not getting extra oil. Check the shopping channels. One or the other is always offering a fryer. I got mine for far less than $100; but, I've got mine over a year. Even if you have to spend $100 plus, if you get it through a shopping channel, there's always some sort of an incentive. I can't imagine anyone not liking this appliance. It generates no heat in the kitchen. Clean up is a breeze. The food is tasty as can be and everything fried food should be - except greasy....See MoreAll in one appliance--Microwave + air fryer + broiler + convection??
Comments (18)I’m looking for the same and wonder what the OP chose? I need the micro function because I’m a sipper and warm up coffee a lot, heat water for tea. Plus leftovers and steaming broccoli etc. I also love my countertop air fryer. So fast for those fries and pizza heat ups for grandkids. Also great for making a few cookies from the dough that I freeze. It’s be great to have a good air fry micro combo. My counters are so cluttered drives me and my husband crazy but I can’t be bothered with hauling things out all the time. Toaster too. Kitchenaid mixer I’ve had for 45 years, which is heavy. Comments (4)One problem, aside from venting, is building a custom space for an appliance with a short life span. As these appliances evolve in size, design, and features, they could quickly become outdated and the replacements might not fit the existing space you created just for the first one. In 17 years in our previous house, we had three different microwaves due to power interruptions. Trying to find a perfectly sized unit to fit in the custom space required my woodworker husband to alter the space....See MoreWhat do you cook in your air fryer and how big do I need for 2 people
Comments (46)Does it fry? No. Does it cook small amounts of food, convection style? Yes. We like ours and since we are recent empty nesters, I love it for roasted veg, thin cuts of meat which are easy to overcook conventionally. Great for warming up leftovers that could get soggy in the microwave. It cooks faster than our toaster oven and makes the best baked potatoes/sweet potatoes ever. I keep it in the pantry just off our kitchen and of late have been using it several times a week. Today, I did roasted beets which I will reheat when I do baby potatoes and green beans for dinner. My 20 something daughters use theirs several times a week. For the investment it's a great little appliance provided you have the space for it. Since we don't eat a lot of toast and we have a toaster for when we want to, I am thinking of getting rid of my toaster oven, now that we have the air fryer. ETA - when we were a family of four, it wouldn't have been as sufficient as it is for us now....See More- 6 years ago
