Comments (124)Well, Ladies, it's time to close this swap! I'm glad everyone enjoyed it and I'd like to thank everyone who sent out recipes. A big thank you to everyone who responded, too. One thing: if you signed up for the swap and didn't get a recipe, please let me know, okay? Jeanne already has the June FOTESS swap up and running, check it out! We are going to take a break in July and I will be back in August with our 2nd Annual FOTESS Yard Sale! Last year's Yard Sale was fun and I'm sure this one will be too! Off to sit outside and enjoy a glass of vino! Shirley!...See MoreFOTESS: Non-Swap Month (Chat, Pictures, etc.)
Comments (51)Erica, what do you do with sorghum? I'm assuming it's more than for it's distinctive look--but I like the look! For us sorghum is to bulk up the cows! Thanks for the info about your cukes. So interesting. My mom fell a week ago and has compression fractures in her spine. Dr. told her she'd be in the hospital a month and then he sent her home 2 days later. She is up walking which I can hardly believe. I'm so happy, though! I had that moment when I became the parent and they became the kids. I sat down with my mom and told her I wanted her to get a machine that tested her blood sugar--you wear a patch and it beeps if your blood sugar gets too high or too low. This is the fourth time her bs got too low and she fell and hurt herself. She said, "Okay." My dad was hiding in the kitchen!!! He came in once he figured out my mom wasn't going to pitch a fit. Hiding in the kitchen!!!! Like a little kid! This week we went to the hearing for my husband's business. The state is trying to shut him down for a year. It's all political and I don't do well with politics--and corruption. I just wish we could all follow the rules. We won't know until the middle of September what will happen. For the time being, he can still work. My daughter started her senior year this week. Her best friend is living with us and it's been going well. I am going to have a half dozen princess pumpkins. I've got lots of Roma tomatoes. My dad has green pepper plants 4' tall full of peppers--king sized plants. My plants which I started in March in the house think they are Miss America plants. They wave to each other, are skinny but healthy, but have no desire to produce. I'm hoping for 2 cantaloupes to ripen and not get eaten by bugs....See MoreFOTESS March Swap: It’s a GREEN Thing
Comments (175)Ruth, thank you for a fun green thing month...... RE: saving paper towels. I am always using in the kitchen/around the house...so, I rip them up and throw them in a metal container that I keep on the kitchen counter. The coffee grounds, scrap veggie stuff/whatever go in the container too. I do dump in my compost bins more than once a day. Last night, I was cleaning out my two kitchen junk drawers. Yes, most of the drawer went in to my metal container....lots of paper stuff. Slow Friday night for me LOL!!!! My sister bought a metal container (with lid) for this very purpose on Amazon, to keep by her kitchen sink. It is to small for me. Happy weekend FOTESSERS....Enjoy more March Madness (basketball). Comments (122)I was outside planting seeds and checked mailbox before coming in. Wow it must be Christmas. Look what Susan sent. I love all of it. I've never grown Acidanthera before, but will definitely get these planted tomorrow. I love black eyed susan vine but it never makes seeds for me so I don't usually have any. And all the other stuff will really come in handy with my planting. Thank you so much....See MoreEricaBraun
