I noticed a couple on Amazon say anti-mold. If you've had yours quite a while, you might want to replace. I have a non-skid tub bottom, no mat needed.

Could you hang it over the shower bar to dry? I wouldn't like that mold either. I get it on the bottom of the shower curtain in the seam.

I let them hang to dry on the side of the tub. I scrub them down each week with Comet manually.

Like Scott, I hang it on the side of the tub to dry -- after every shower. I don't scrub it but once in a blue moon. It's not pristine, but it's not moldy.

Is this an in or outside the tub mat? I'll assume inside in which case you could attach it to the shower wall by the suction cups, but with the suction cups on the outside (as that will be the last to dry). Just fold the top row of suction cups over to the wall side.

I used to drape it over the tub. Always developed mold.

We have a tub/shower retractable clothesline now and I drape the mat over that. No more mold.

After using them, I suction them to the wall of the shower so they drip dry. Then, I buy a new one every couple of months at WalMart, they run about $5 or $6.

I haven't used one of those in years. The bottoms of our tub and shower are non-slip.

I turn it over and spray the suction side with a vinegar/water solution before hanging which seems to help.

I put our shower mat in tub, (other bathroom) with some dish soap , hot water, and a little Clorox, let it soak awhile. Works!!

How quickly a mat dries probably has to do with how long the bathroom stays humid and the general humidity of the house, use of heat or air conditioning. Same for towels.

I only use a rubber bath mat when I give our dog, Ali, a bath. Afterwards I hang it up on the porch railing. Once it is dry I roll it up & put it in the utility room until Ali's bath time rolls around again.

Granted we live in a relatively dry climate, but I don't bother to remove it from the tub. About once every week or two after cleaning the tub, I toss it back into the tub suction cup side up, and fill the tub with just enough hot water to cover- then add a little dish soap and bleach and let it soak for an hour or two. We've had this particular mat for a few years and it rarely develops any issues.

I soaked it in Dawn, hot water and some bleach. I then scrubbed it with a brush. It's airing out over the balcony. It looks so much better! I just saved $20 on a new one. I'll keep up with the cleaning of it and drying outside now that spring seems to be here. Next winter we'll re-visit it again if we have to.

I hang mine over the shower rod. It dries nice and never molds.

Yep, works like a charm, shower curtains, too. In the interim, just hang it up in the shower to dry.

I leave mine flat on the bottom of the tub. About once a month or so (when I remember) I toss it in the washing machine with vinegar to clean it.
