Comments (19)I was looking at this post as I love solar lights and was admiring the unique way of using them. Then I remembered that I have a table style black iron candle holder that held two pillar type candles. I got it from home interiors years ago and could never part with it. Well I got it out and we had two full size black color changing solar lights already here. I just took the stake off of the light and put it into the candle holder portion which has a mediterranean style pattern cut into the metal they fit perfectly and the cutouts let the color changind light shine thru. The candle holder solar light is now on out patio table. I am not sure where there are directions on how to post photos to this website or I could have showed you how very simple this was and how nice it looks....See MoreWhere to position bedside Wall Sconce?
Comments (18)Ok, I think I'm going with centred over the night tables! I did some experimenting with bulbs and heights and should get enough light if they're in that location. Thanks everyone for your pictures! Beagles, the room I was thinking of painting blue is smallish, orthern exposure, very little light. Sigh. Oh well, the nice thing about being in the military is you get to move a lot! Maybe our next house will have a suitable room for blue? Cyn, thanks for the link! Annie, the lamps are going in the room you suggested usimg BM bone white as a trim color--I love it! Once the lamps, pictures & curtains are up, I'll be able to post pictures!...See MoreWall Sconce for Short Wall

Comments (23)I’m not sure if I should be still posting but I asked for help so I am going to do one last try. My foyer is so hard to photograph because it is not very deep. As said before, the space between the front door and the wall is about 4-1/2 feet. Therefore, the light is only visible from the outside front or if you look directly up when you pass through. There is really no good side angle. (Please note that it is currently hooked up to be out of the way for painting…it is not in its correct position). I measured this morning and the center of the electrical boxes for the sconces is 90” from the floor. The space between the door and the adjacent walls is roughly 33”. I would love to find a nice solution that does not require moving the electrical boxes. That is my challenge....See MoreAlexis
