Wall Sconces for a Staircaes
Comments (6)We have wall sconces in our current stairways and had them in previous homes, too. Only when moving a bulky sofa upstairs did we have a problem with someone hitting the fixture. Ours are positioned approx. 7 ft. above the stair. We have 10 ft. ceilings in the basement and higher ones on the main/second floors, so you may find a different height preferable depending on your ceiling heights. In our current home, we also have the inset step lights. I would not find them adequate alone. One suggestion is to use a fixture that shields the bulb, preferably with a frosted or colored glass. That will prevent glare from bothering your eyes at night....See Morewall sconces or table lamps
Comments (8)The wall is 8'h x 161" across, headboard 54"x61" nightstand 26"w x 25"h x 16"d I'm also putting a black rectangular mirror above my dresser and it's 23" x 63". I'm including a pic of the dresser and a part of the mirror. To let you see it. What do you think of the size and the pattern in the mirror. Pulse excuse the mess as I'm in the middle of making the changes....See MoreDoes my living room furniture need to be aligned to my wall sconces?

Comments (23)I’m not sure if I should be still posting but I asked for help so I am going to do one last try. My foyer is so hard to photograph because it is not very deep. As said before, the space between the front door and the wall is about 4-1/2 feet. Therefore, the light is only visible from the outside front or if you look directly up when you pass through. There is really no good side angle. (Please note that it is currently hooked up to be out of the way for painting…it is not in its correct position). I measured this morning and the center of the electrical boxes for the sconces is 90” from the floor. The space between the door and the adjacent walls is roughly 33”. I would love to find a nice solution that does not require moving the electrical boxes. That is my challenge....See MoreBaroo2u
