Does my living room furniture need to be aligned to my wall sconces?

Question: Can I pull off this couch configuration where I put my two long couches in parallel such that one is within the space between the two sconces and one is just outside? (picture attached)

Considerations

Here's the trouble: The two long couches can't be placed perpendicular to each other since there isn't enough space for that.
Why might I want to try to make this configuration work? This way I can keep both my couches and the space behind the black couch could become a reading nooks of sorts
Alternative: Sell one of the long couches and put the remaining long couch between the sconces and two chairs perpendicular to this couch such that they face the TV.

PS - Ignore the positioning of the coffee table, side-tables, and white book shelf below the TV in this setup.

Just have an electrician remove the sconces. We did!

Wouldn't this be tricky? There is a little hole in the wall where I installed the sconce so would need to drill a hole in the wall and fill up this existing hole, or have a wire go from the hole to another place.

Hello Lina! I can’t wait to see what you end up choosing for this space - it is lovely. I agree that neutral upholstery is the way to go, introduce colour with color with throws and cushions. Please clarify this statement... "I like more war, colors like the beige or light tan to coordinate with each other." Also it is hard to recommend colors without some idea of the space and how the rooms relate to each other. Do you have a floor plan, sketch or pictures that you can post to help us give you ideas? Whole house open concept or 3 separate rooms with doors or clearly defined separations for different colors of paint. Also what color & type of flooring, furniture, cabinets, rugs, art etc... You don't really need a coffee table, since you have the side tables. Just tuck a c table under the side of the couch where there is none. That should free up some space. Since you want to put a unit where the chairs are, the chairs will have to be relocated. Even with your two couches and chairs, you only have eight seats. Add more with poofs or ottomans. Relocate the two chairs in front of the fireplace (with their backs to the fireplace). Or as suggested, move the couch that's in front of the window to face the other couch. Then the chairs can go in front of the window. I agree with art going around the tv.

IMO the way the furniture is now means you have to be standing at the window to get the view. Move the TV to the wall between the windows with a narrow depth console table beneath it. Small scale sofa/ottoman on wall where TV is now, chair where the red one is for husband's TV viewing & another chair in the corner between the windows. Floor lamps in both corners on large window wall for reading. Small table & lamp next to ;husband's chair. Before deciding on furniture colors...are you adding a rug? I would, it gives the room a polished look. Find the rug first then choose furniture colors from it.

Can you provide pictures from all angles and a drawing with dimensions? This room looks big enough to make both couches fit without putting a couch back to the tv.
