Shout out to Sylvia, Interest in Fort Worth Spring Swap

I just got a call from a nice lady from Plano named Judy. She was inquiring about the spring swap. I posted my phone number on one of the swaps in years past in case anyone had trouble finding us and that's how she found me.

I told her that I'd start a post :-)

Pk, I have missed Sylvia. Someone asked about her on KT and another Sylvia said she was the one they were looking for....but I don't think that is her. Her writing style isn't anything like Sylvia's....that we are talking about. The Sylvia I have been looking for lives in Waco, (I think), sold real estate and went to plant swaps. Has anyone heard from "that" Sylvia?

Okay,,,,,never mind. I think I am wrong. Anyway....glad to know Sylvia is still around. I talked to her once on the phone and she is a delightful person. would love to meet her "in real life". Maybe once I move to Centerville, and closer to her area, I will.

The least expensive pavilion rentals are $35 for 1/2 day, & the only 2 with bathrooms that are still available for April 13 are: J W Dunlop South: just north of I-30, near Fielder & Webb Community south of I-20 near 360 How do either of these sound to the congregation? There are other pavilions, but they either don't have bathrooms, or they're more expensive; if neither of the listed parks will work, I'd be happy to investigate others, but the ones that have bathrooms are at least $60 for a half day, & I can't budget that much by myself.

If things go well, and I make it to the swap by noon, I will have the following: For Barb -- white datura plants For Cathy C.-- Old Blush + another of her choice Roses: 1 pink mini; 1 red cascade; 1 Chrysler Imperial; 1 Paul Neyron; 1 Monsieur Tillier; 1 Sea Foam; 1 Kordes Perfecta; 1 ? lost the tag; 1 runt Belinda's Dream. Veggie: Heirloom Tomatoes; a few basil, 2 broccoli (all these are small) Flowers: 4 Tx Heritage hollyhocks; 2 lemon balm; 3 yellow columbine; about 6 Tiger eye marigold; lots more datura; 3 cosmos; 5 catchfly WHAT I'D LIKE TO TRADE FOR: Probably not much, could use horse manure, potting soil, 6" and gal. pots. OR if someone has a nice big urn shaped pot. could use time, space and patience. Hope to see you there

Linda, I do have roses but I don't think I should share with anyone right now. I've lost 3 to Rose rosette disease this year and numerous others for no apparent reason the past two years. Maybe it was also Rose rosette and they just didn't show the obvious signs. Marshall's Grain is having an awesome sale so I picked up extra's of a few things. See if any of these interest you. Bougainvillea cassandra plant Luna hibiscus Plumbago (light blue flowers) Santa Barbara Mexican Bush Sage white trailing lantana I don't think this is the same as Sylvia's plumbago. This is not a ground cover type and has light blue flowers.

Hey PK are we doing the Plant Swap again this year? The cannas you gave me filled the bill for that horrible spot! They did BEAUTIFULLY!

I am happy that the cannas did well for you Jean!

Sylvia is the organizer. I went back to working weekends ( 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday) to get a 3 day weekend every week. No gain without effort!

I can't make it to the swap.
