Not a houseplant,but...
Comments (31)Ok here we go :-) This is more like it. This leaf is a small side shoot on a more mature plant recovering from root rot. There is a lot of variation in the leaves even on a single plant. It seems a lot of things determine leaf size and shape. What threw me is that your leaf looks to have a completely different texture than mine. But i guess unless I can reach through the computer screen and touch it, I cant know for sure!...See MoreWhat's Going On In Your Garden?
Comments (33)I know what you mean... I'm very proud of my girls! Both Emma and Maia are very special to me, and I like when people ask about them. Even nicer when they know what breed they are, and I don't have to explain. I would say that most people who meet my girls will go home and look them up on the Internet... Good Olde Bulldogges are still a rare breed! You don't see them every day! Even more impressive is the fact that they have manners, and won't jump on people. They listen to commands and obey instantly, and that impresses most people. Just today, the vet came to give all the dogs here rabies shots... the owners' Ridgebacks were all terribly behaved, and some of them had to be lassoed with leashes because they don't come when called. A few were even fighting the leashes because they're not even leash broke! It was a terrible mess! And I'm proud of my two adults, Emma and Bonzee, who were both perfectly behaved and sat nice for their shots and check-ups. That's what a little training will do... give you well-mannered animals that you're proud to show off, and can take with you anywhere! Unfortunately, I'm only the kennel care-taker... I'm not a trainer. I couldn't possibly train all those dogs!...See MoreTeensy caterpillars drifting by my computer
Comments (3)Susan - Your computer is bugged!!! But you better watch out - their Mother just might show up to protect them and then you'll be in big trouble. Mother could be at least an inch long and have huge antennae. She could lie in wait by the number lock key and strike out when your pinky is least expecting an attack. Do you have one of those pressurized cans of air for cleaning the computer? You could hold it in one hand blowing mightily away at the creatures and then with the other hand try sucking them up in the vacuum. Stay tuned for more in the continuing saga of Man vs. Beast. tee hee...See MoreIs this Millipedes in my houseplant soil?
Comments (6)whats the houseplant ... repot it in fresh soil ... if appropriate .... i bet a nickle.. you had the plant outdoors last summer.. on the ground???? i hope most are smaller than this one.. crikey.. look at it.. its over 3 inches long in this pic... lol ... a scale would help next time ... centipede.. is my guess.. based on google images .... compare at link ... if you think you can handle it... lol .. now to be clear .. if its a 5 dollar plant ... dont go spending 10 dollars on new potting media .. just throw it out.. and buy a new plant ... eh? ... that kind of solves all your problems in one toss .... it would be a different issue if this is great grandma's 100 year old heirloom plant ... then the money spent.. would be worthwhile ... there is a very active houseplant forum .. where you can get the ID ... and specific advice to said plant .... welcome to GW ... ken Here is a link that might be useful: link...See Morelaticauda
