Terra cotta or gingerbread. Don't want high contrast to the brick, it will just make it stand out more. Another great color is an eggplant kind of purple, but that would depend on how that jibed with the rest of your stuff. Brown is good too, in all its iterations, taupe, tan, etc.

Okay. Here are three photos. The wall with the windows looks white in the photos, but it actually a lighter shade of the adobe wall color. Also, the photo that shows the fullTV (#3) is pretty much representative of the light in the room. The windows face north and there is a three foot overhang on that outside wall. It gets very hot here in the summer, so large windows are not a good thing.

If anyone has ideas about a different ceiling fan/light, I'm listening.

some shades of deeper, golden-ish yellow might work . some blues and greens..greens would read a tad more expected though, and maybe less interesting with your current decor. I'd bring green in plants though.

I think if you used the creamy white from your fireplace wall on all your walls you would highlight your beams and your floors nicely. Do you want to replace the fan with a light or do you want a different fan?

I'm sure there are many more. you also don't have to go with strictly that style. but i kinda like it..well i like everything that has animals or plants on it, so i'm far from being objective

We do need that fan - no AC, just a swamp cooler, but those lights are sweet!

I like this palate, but not sure that it would look right with the floors. I'm thinking I could go this dark (in some shade) if I painted only the adobe wall this color and the north and east (opposite the adobe wall) one of the coordinating lighter shades.

I love this last one, copper wire. Do you think the smoky topaz is too close in color to your beams?

Because the ceiling boards have been painted white, the beams don't concern me as much as the possibility of something clashing with the floor.

As I look at the colors this morning, I'm liking the coppery colors better than smoky topaz. Also thinking I need to take another photo because whatever color I decide to paint the east wall (near the front door) is going to have to flow into the dining room.

I would totally paint that brick wall a light cream color. That's the band aid in the room. Time for a clean color slate and use your rug as inspiration.

I also like Copper better (from what I can see on the pic; should be sampled of course)..whites will definitely work as well. Really, great space. So many possibilities. Depends on the overall mood you want, direction you want to take.
