Need help with how to choose paint color
Comments (2)The picture didn't come up but it is indeed the Bisque Stone. I'm thinking of whether to stick with a beige or go a little more gray. Of course something as simple as picking a beige ends up with hues or shades that you don't want. And I am thinking I am getting tired of the color palette in our house which is mostly beiges, yellows and reds. I want to go grays, blues, whites but I am not changing everything or having one room stand out against the rest....See MoreHelp! Need help choosing new roof color!
Comments (27)I would also spray paint the star a rusty red so it will show more. It really doesn't stand out on the brick in it's current color which looks more copper in the picture. (the copper is pretty but you need red there) I would also consider opening the bed up in front of the stairs to add flowers as well. The house is beautiful, but the landscape is what's lacking. I would actually post a thread in the landscape forum to get some ideas of how you can build the landscape up a little. Put a plan together and just do a little bit every season.....See MoreLooking for a color consultant to help me choose the right color
Comments (17)Here's the kitchen. She didn't pick the floor, that was matched to existing--it's quite red! I had decided two tone cabinets and white subway tile, she helped me pick the specific cabinet colors, tile, counter, and wall color. Walls are Edgecomb Gray Here's the bathroom. I had decided wood vanity and white tiles--she helped me pick which tiles, cabinet stain, and paint color (BM Healing Aloe) She recommended paint colors for my 2 bedrooms as well, but I ended up diverging slightly. I wanted to paint my bedroom very dark almost black; she recommended a medium green, and I ended up doing Newburg Green. For the guest room, she recommended Edgecomb Gray again and I did Revere Pewter (I know, I'm a daredevil). I had a pretty good vision of what I wanted, so didn't get a ton of creative input from her (rooms actually came out fairly close to my inspiration pics). For me, I was spending so much $$$ on the remodel, especially on permanent fixtures (cabinet, tile, counter), that $500 was worth the peace of mind that I was making the right decisions....See MoreHelp choosing the color of a wooden fence - design help!
Comments (12)As far as longevity, in my experience, the weak point on the post is the part below ground level, which eventually rots and the post becomes unstable and has to be replaced. Are you using metal below ground or is it the same wood? Even Cedar is not going to last forever. I know they have come out with a newer design where you can insert the wooden post into a brown metal one for the lower part that goes into the ground. My next door neighbor did that, but that was not available when I had my fence put in many years ago....See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
