There are many options here. I would use a soft warm color. White, cream, sage, peach, grey. What colors do you like?

I seem to change color preference with rooms. All my bedrooms are different colors...one is off-white, one is purple, and one is gold. The different colors never bothered me because the rooms are self-contained and doors are always closed during daylight hours. My living room, kitchen, dining area is the same color...revere pewter but looks more biege than gray. The bathroom is a sea green.

caroline....I feel the same way about wood floors. I seldom wash them, just sweep/vacuum. My floors are about 30 years old so you have me beat there but they have seen years of dogs, cats, toys, children and adults. Now it's only 2 adults.

I am going to change the kitchen wood floor b/c of water damage but the other floors may well outlive me.

I had a new bedroom set for my empty room but sold it. Had it less than a year.......very poor quality although it cost lots of $$$$.

I would not touch the floor or the furniture's color or finish, it's beautiful. I love the misty silver/grey/blue wall colors, I have it throughout my house but that's my own personal taste. In fact it's almost exactly the same as the Gray Wisp above.

I also would not change the hardware on that chest of drawers. Soon it will be an antique but by removing the original and distinctive hardware it will lose a lot of value.

Most grays feel cold to me so I would use a light warm color on the walls.

I agree about keeping the hardware. IF you really dislike it and can find handles that are the same size & use the same screw, save the original in a safe spot. Make sure it is well labeled and that you saved it for it's value as original hardware .

I wouldn't choose a paint color until the bedding is chosen, that's a more important match than wood furniture & floors. Leave both as is they are beautiful

I think that if you keep the furniture and floor color as they are, a pale blue on the walls would be really pretty. I wouldn't fool with the furniture. It's unique and looks to be in good condition as is. There is a floor restore stuff you can buy to apply to hardwood floors that is pretty easy to use and restores some of the sheen. You can buy it anywhere, Walmart, Lowe's...
