Don't knock the Knockout
Comments (36)I am not a fan of the KO roses at all. I see them grown all over the place and for the most part they look terrible to my eye. I think the problem is not with the rose as I have seen some that do look nice. I think the problem is that they are bought by people who think they can now grow roses and not have to do anything at all to them. Then they get scraggly and rough looking and lose their appeal. These people wanting carefree roses don't prune, feed, water, or deadhead their KO's in any way and unfortunately the bushes look just like that. KNOCKOUTS ARE STILL ROSES AND STILL NEED SOME ATTENTION AND CARE!! YOU CANNOT JUST PLANT THEM AND FORGET THEM OR THEY LOOK TERRIBLE!! Just my opinion,..... John...See MoreDon't Know What I Expected
Comments (15)Texasredhead: Thanks for the compliment on the quilt. It is a "round robin"--a quilt that travels from quilter to quilter, each one adding a border. This one went from me in Wisconsin to Celina, TX to Houston, TX to Pennsylvania, to southern CA to northeastern CA and then back to me for quilting. I absolutely love it! I've been a quilter for about 20 years, have had a business machine quilting for sewing machine collectors (I do all my sewing on treadle sewing machines) and now have a pattern design company with a friend. I LOVE quilting! I'll give you link to my webshots albums where your wife can see some of my other quilts, plus there are some pretty nifty antique sewing machines. Gotta get back to work--I'm making a "Jacob's Ladder" quilt for our nephew Jake, who's getting married on Jan. 3. Comments (12):-) It is indeed funny, what it has come to ! I know our senses have come to doubt everything ! That's not at all the case here. BTW the GURU is a monk... and has no link. You can go and meet him in person (At no charge... he will be happy to help you too!) ... but I understand why the suspicion. Sorry to disappoint you... but no link.. no spam.. nothing here. If you are waiting for that, don't! Through out my "mess", I kept notes of the practical advice given by the "GURU". I was just going through old emails and found those notes, and thought I will post my story here as inspiration. But that's alright, pls ignore this, if you feel it was spam and I wasted your time. Perhaps if it ends up helping even one of those in "mess", it would be worth my time. BTW, I started a successful software startup company 2 yrs back. My time is better served in many other things !.... "Spam....!" :-) Link to gURU ! !!! .... whooooo! but like i said i understand. BTW if anyone wants those notes... its in excel file... share your email address and I will be happy to share. If you can swift through and help urself out of situation, well and good. All the very best guys... & gals ... and those others waiting for spam... keep on waiting...!!...See MoreSpam spam spam
Comments (6)May I make a suggestion? As long as we have posters who add other boards to read their topic along with the conversation forum, we'll get spam pretty soon. I said this before, sometimes it's necessary. Like the time I was desperate to find the name of a flower and didn't get any responses in the flower boards. Rarely do I click on a topic anymore if it's also posted on other boards. I used to love the intimacy of this board. :(...See MoreOlychick
