All New Ball Book of Canning and Preserving - what do you think?

I must have been under a rock, canning-wise anyway, for the last 2 years! I just found out about and bought this book. So many new recipes and even new categories, I've marked about 30 to try! But I'd love to hear from anyone who's already dived in.


In general, what new recipe(s) do you like and recommend? What new recipe(s) do you not like?


I love the ideas of raw packed "Simple One-Jar Meals" and "Simple One-Jar Vegetables" but wonder what the results are like. To serve you're supposed to simmer for 10 minutes after emptying the jar into a saucepan - but will everything be like mush? Has anyone tried any recipes from these sections?
