Authentic South American Flavor

I made a batch of
Keen Wah with chicken broth. Made a small dent in
my lifetime supply of quinoa. Pkg said for authentic South American
flavor toast the quinoa in a dry pan before prepping it the regular
way. Having no knowledge of same I decided to find out. I now know
that Authentic South American Flavor is burnt quinoa.
