Comments (24)Thank you for doing those images @mommyjoy!!! They are so lovely looking and I agree once some of the larger elements(rugs, furniture) are in place I will use accessories to tie it together. @aktillery9 I do love the rug but it may turn out to not work so great. I have a round rug if you can see in the wide angle image that is grey and purple with a vintage feel. When I think about the rugs together it makes no sense but when I see them next to one another I think they do work. Hopefully it does work as @mommyjoy said there is a vintage theme going on too. Next up is my floor plan! In looking at the room do any of you have ideas for how it should flow and how the placement should go? As I wrote it is a bit of a challenge, large room but not huge, not super narrow but not wide with walls of windows looking at the water and that alcove. I can take more photos if that would help any of you help me! Thanks!...See MoreCan you suggest a blue for my living room walls?
Comments (11)thank you richfield95 - I love that blue. Yes, it is a TV room. I'm planning on the TV against the back wall on something open or simple (I like rustic contemporary) and the couch will be on the tall wall facing the window with a slim console table behind. Lil S - THANK YOU! I will try to look into that closer!! Beverly - Sigh. I know. I'm just really over white walls. I have been accenting white for so many years and I'm kind of over it right now. It is still a consideration though. How do you feel about one blue accent wall. :) Pandtkendall - All the flooring was selected and viewed in the house and I have fabric samples of the sofa. I've run it them both past the C&B person (she helped me pick the couch color based on the carpet I brought in) and then took the color we selected back to the person at my flooring place who will also help me with window coverings. It's just the paint that I really need direction on. :) And the accent chairs. I have NO idea what color I should go....See MorePlease help with rug and artwork suggestions for this living room
Comments (10)this is Prampton+Machine woven at Wayfair.com an inexpensive modern rug that would look nice with your sofa... I'd forget the matching mirrors nothing fantastic to reflect. a white ceiling fan to disapear into the ceiling, not stand out. lift the plants off the floor with stands, and add drapery panels extended beyond the trim on the window (rod at ceiling height to draw eye upward) . the symetrical lamps on the sofa table are too matchy, try a floor lamp Any thought on spinning the sectional and having the sofa table exposed, for a softer cozier seating area? a lower larger coffee table or ottoman? Don't go too light on the floor, you want to see some grain, but I think your options are great. group your greens, too many scattered around justs makes too much visual stimulation. this rug looks better in person....See MoreFamily room design overwhelm - please help!
Comments (6)Kitty litter in the least used bathroom in the house or the laundry room no where else. IMO you need to decide what this space functions for most. Then you design the space around that function So if TV and seating thrn start there .You have desparate need for storage and not visible storage but a nice wall full of it I assume this is a porch that now functions as a FR. So how old are the kids ? How much of their clutter NEEDS to be in thta space ? What do you need to make the space work for your office ?I see clutter everywhere , the kitchen and this space . My advice first step get rid of all the clutter in both spaces . If that needs to have more storage for both then you need to do that first. I had 3 kids and believe me they and their toys did not take over the house . We lived in married student housing for 4 yrs and pretty small space . The kids had a storage bench with 3 draweres that pulled out with handles on the front and at the end of each day the toys sere put away so the LR could be used for adult use. The bench was also extra seating in the LR My Dad actually built the bench best thing ever . Any toys that did not fit in the drawers went into the bedrooms . Everyone needs to enjoy a home ....See MoreTatyana Veron
