Just curious.

Have any of you ever planted a DR in the ground and seen it thrive? I live on the Hawaiian island of Maui, where a huge Desert Rose (looks like a small tree) is planted in the front of someone's home next to a sidewalk. Judging by the size, this plant is many, many decades old and appears to be quite happy. Of course Desert Roses are found in nature growing in the ground, but I wonder how successful I might be to try this as well. I live on the part of the island, close to the beaches, where it is predominantly hot (80 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit), sunny and dry for most of the year. Please share your thoughts and experiences with all of us.
