Mjlb, not worried too much about fading. The room is pretty shaded - probably gets more light and sun in the winter without the leaves on the trees. I am thinking about white covers for summer and red for winter, but also thinking of just doing one set (time constraints) - and then changing out pillows and accessories. Catt, I love that pillow you linked to --- kind of what I had in mind to bring down some of the white from the window and door frames - and agree about the rug. The one I have there now just blends in with the floor. I also think it needs to be larger. I have tried other furniture arrangements over the years and will do so again, but the one there now seems to work the best.

Karyn, I'm not surprised that you're having a difficult time. My home is being decorated in British colonial, also. Although CL has great furniture buys, it can be difficult to find the right style, the right price, and the right size. I looked for months trying to find the right counter stools here in Houston and finally gave up. Frontgate's Raffles counter stools met all my criteria and were a great price for the style. Many of the nice tables pictured so far on your thread are meant for a formal diningroom. For example, it seems to me your CL find would need a glass top to protect that fine wood. This defeats the idea of practicality for daily use. A breakfast table takes a lot of abuse, even with adults only in the household. Many folks probably went with a glass top so the table could be more formal yet the glass could take the wear of daily living. Frontgate has the Milano (indoor) table in different sizes and shapes. It has an iron base and a recycled hammered copper top. Frontgate has paired Clermont chairs with it which could work for British colonial. To me, their prices seem reasonable for the quality. This table may not work for you. If interested, see ironaccents.com and humbleabode.com as both also feature that table. Ironworks shows other types of tops for that table base and humbleabode discusses the type of wax that should be used to protect the top. We added on a screened in porch to the rear of our house as part of the reno. It has glass windows that can be put in for the cold months, so some call it a Florida room. I wanted an old style outdoor space that lives like an indoor space and where we won't get bitten by mosquitoes. Before adding it on, we never ate on our porch because of not wanting to be chewed up. We used the porch only for big bbqs with lots of citronella candles and bug spray. We intend to decorate it to be like a sun porch. We love how we can leave our back door open and don't have any screens on our back windows because the room works as our screens. With the ceiling fans in our house and in the porch, it really lets us have natural air & breezes instead of refrigerated a/c all summer. Several people have seen it and mentioned turning it into another indoor room, but with the den adjacent, we have no use for more indoor space. It is meant to be a place we can be outdoors even if it rains or is hot in the sun as it provides shade from the midday heat. I can't wait to have it set up with comfy seating so I can enjoy a cup of coffee out there while working online or just plain old surfing for fun.

White, white dove or chantilly lace but I'm a big believer in using your trim color to pull the rooms together and to do that trim color needs to be the same from room to room at least on the baseboards, doors and trim. It's possible to take liberties with the window trim and window color and crown molding. Or on a high ceiling to create depth with a different colored ceiling, this can especially work while if you have a crown molding to break the colors apart.
