Comments (6)Sam is doing better. I put rocks in the large plants. He used the dirt mixed with litter today. Vet called today and cannot see him until next week. He walked a few steps on the lesh today. We have a very large crate that both Sue and Little Bit rode in together. We are putting Sue and Sam in the crate and taking them in the RV tomorrow to see how he does. Thank you for the help. I was really begining to worry that he would not be able to go with us....See MoreTraining your cat to use the commode instead of the litter box
Comments (11)Since we own a pet store we get to try all kinds of neat things - the training seat we used was by citikitty. Yes our cat uses it for #1 & 2 - yesssss he has better aim than many men -- yes we may have to go back to using a litter box when he gets old and arthritic (but look at the years we will have without a litter box)-- yes I worry about if we need to use the bathroom at the same time (I guess first one there wins -- and yes I assume you can train every cat. It has been an interesting 6 weeks. Now I just have to teach him to flush......See MoreHow to I teach my older cat to use a litter box?
Comments (8)I recently trained a now semi feral cat to use the litter box. She had urinated on the bathroom rug but would not use the litter box even though I purchased Cat Attract. I placed the unsoiled portion of the run under the litter box allowing space for her to continue using the rug which I spread with the kitty litter. I did this for 2 days and then cut off and disposed the soiled portion. I then cut the unsoiled portion in half and placed that half inside the box, spreading it with the kitty litter. She then used the run inside the box. On day 4 I disposed of the soiled rug and placed just a small patch of the rug into the box, spreading it with litter. On day 5 I removed the patch and from that day forward she used at all times the kitty litter box. I did not contain her in a closed room because that horrified her. In a total of 7 weeks she went from growling feral outdoor cat to spayed and aborted indoor and outdoor cat, sleeps on my bed, follows me around like a puppy and is very, very sweet....See MoreHow to retrain a cat to use the litter box
Comments (3)This would cost you about $100, but you could purchase a large dog crate and fix it up with litter box/pan, food, and water. Put the crate somewhere where it won't bother you. Keep her inside for several hours at a time. She'll have room to move and will likely start using her litter again. I have one of these big dog crates in my kitchen, and I bring my one mean cat in at night and bed her down inside. She is separate from the indoor cats (can't harass them), warm and safe. She has come to love this crate because it belongs to her, and she knows that it is her safe, secure night-time spot. Good luck....See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
