I had to get a new phone so here's a first shot with my iphone 8...not sure it's much different in quality than the 6. What's interesting though is this pic is in color...it's just that winter can be so drab around here. But I like the round shape of the snow/ice in the pond formed from the moving water by the inlet.

My wife's family used to go there every summer for the month of August, and shortly after we started dating her family had a large reunion trip to the island. It happened to be the first time I met any of her family, and there sure were a lot of them. 8 years agoTaken last summer while forest fires were raging in N. Cal. This photo was taken mid-day and that is the sun not the moon. We choked on that smoke for weeks before the air finally cleared.

Redwing blackbirds (along with the Starlings and Doves here) These would be this years hatchlings with the light stripe on the wings. We have never had the Redwings at this time of year. Normally they pass through here in early March, and back through in September.

Mine is a neat coloring of poinsettia that I haven't seen before but very much like.
