Cuisinart Combo Steam & Convection Toaster Oven

User

Recently bought this little Steam oven.

Another appliance that was highly recommended on Egullet. In fact there is a thread dating back to 2013, and is now up to Part 3. The only complaint is the fact that it is small. But those that have it love it.

My Cuisinart Convection Toaster oven is about 14 years old and I keep waiting for it to die. It only gets used for Toast. But it is still working so I wasn't planning on buying a new one just yet. But I had been watching prices and one day it was on sale for $279. CAD and a day later it was on special for $219 with free shipping so I couldn't resist.

The newest model is slightly larger than the previous models.

I usually roast chickens in a cast iron skillet. My Griswold JUST fits, and it is 15 1/2 to the tip of the handle. It would not have fit in the earlier model. I ordered a 10" lodge without the long handle and an 8". Also ordered a rectangle stone that is 11" X 7". So I can bake small baguettes or larger Boules.

I love this little oven. I've been baking all my breads in it. One at a time.

First loaf baked in the steam oven. Baked on a 7 1/2" stone.

Sliced the next morning.

Roasting Chicken.

Whole

Breasts.

More bread.

And it makes great toast.
