Comments (9)We LOVE this rose in our garden. Of all the tea roses we ordered band-size from Vintage, this one grew the fastest. The blooms are just gorgeous - the photos captures them exactly. And it's thornless so I could put it where there is some traffic. And it blooms its head off. Ours is nearly 5' tall now and probably 4 1/2' wide - about 6 years old. I've taken cuttings from it (it's rooted nicely) and now have it in a second location in our garden and would like to spread it further. This is a great rose for coastal Calif....See MoreWhat about the rose G. Nabonnand?
Comments (7)Hi, Jerome. Yes, 'G. Nabonnand' is still among my favorite roses. As far as big roses that I really enjoy in my garden, I'd put it right up there behind 'Nur Mahal'. It's a subtle rose that will charm you once you get to know it and it continues to be very healthy & productive for me. I've really been concentrating on smaller-growing roses lately, with my space restrictions, but I haven't forgotten G. Nabonnand by any means. By the way, are you finding it difficult to respond in Gardenweb lately? An ad for "inrichmedia.com" keeps popping up, eluding my pop-up blocker. It is almost impossible to type a response. Comments (15)First, I am the wrong person to ask about fragrance. After years and years of allergies, I am become a poor judge of fragrance. G. Nabonnand is one of the roses that has not only survived drought, record-setting heat, and deadly irrigation system problems ... it has positively THRIVED. That makes me happy, because it is a prolific bloomer here, and impervious to fungal disease of any sort. (Blackspot is rarely an issue here, so if that is a problem where you are located, YMMV.) It's perfectly placed on the hillside to show up bravely when I look out the window, and that was a blessing the last couple of years, when getting down the hill wasn't possible for me. I'm thrilled to once-again be visiting those roses in up close and personally....See More'G. Nabonnand'
Comments (7)It reminds me of a Disney Princess' ballroom gown: fluffy, layered and soooo tasteful, lol. This rose is one of my all-time favorites, by my all-time favorite breeder (never met a Nabonnand rose I didn't like, lol). Thanks for the pic, Jeri. John...See MoreLisa Adams
