Comments (7)I happened upon 4 footed dessert glass pcs while browsing @ Goodwill last yr ...for $1 each .... whoa, I grabbed those 'babies' smiling all the way to the check-out! Here they are displayed on a glass cake plate in my kitchen...I also added 2 beautiful glass ornaments w/silver stripes (you can see one in the front right glass) & 2 silver bird napkin rings: On this same counter (by my countertop stove) is this 'tin' I found @ Hobby Lobby a couple yrs ago ...using my 40% off coupon ~~ plus another 'chunky pottery snowman' ...did I say I just love this guys! ;-) The small blue crock I found in a consignment store a few yrs ago, too: Above this area kitchen area is my 'end cupboard' which I am always 'changing up' ... these 2 snowmen prints I just bought a few mos ago ... aren't they just adorable! I did buy these 'new' but the price was right! I'll still be adding a few vintage Christmas postcards to the black mirror hanging: You may have noticed that little shelf w/snowmen...here's a closer view... hubby made that shelf from old barnwood a long time ago... a few yrs back I painted it a creamy white. Can you tell I love snowmen!!! Ok, I've rattled on ... we sure have fun, don't we! TFLookin'! Jeanne S....See MoreIs this too Holiday for Year round?
Comments (24)I think you are going in a very good direction with your decor. Choosing to use things in a different way will make your decor unique and personal. That star is very cute and your son's reaction is priceless. Love the idea of "fairy lights" and will be leaving out a box or 2 of mini-lights as I pack Christmas away. Don't know how or where I'll use them but they'll lighten one corner or another!...See MoreAre brussel sprouts an iffy holiday side dish?
Comments (33)I love Brussels sprouts, and just made some, sliced and sautéed with leeks in butter. Very yummy. I also like them just plain boiled with butter but I just can't manage to like them roasted, they never get done enough for me. I'm one of those odd people who don't want "crisp tender" vegetables. I want them raw or I want them cooked and nothing in the middle, LOL. Melissaki5, I have the same family members, I think, they won't eat a vegetable unless it's covered with cheese, butter or some kind of cream sauce. I won't touch that green bean casserole thing, but 75% of my family loves the stuff, go figure. I also love beets, any way you can cook them. Marinated, grated raw into salad, just boiled with salt, pepper and butter, Harvard Beets, you name it, I'll eat it if it has beets! Happy Thanksgiving, I'd make the Brussels sprouts! Comments (4)We like to pick a blank wall (move a picture if we have to) and arrange the cards on the wall in some vague semblance of a pine tree. Cheesy, but effective. :^D I just tape 'em right to the wall; I haven't had the paint peel when removing them yet. Dog people are the best for cards; I had a couple who sent me Christmas card photos of their two Maltese dressed in Holiday finery every year for over ten years, until the "girls" passed away. Sigh. Maybe you can post some of the Bassets? :^)...See MoreKD
