I don't think so. To me it feels more Texas-y than holiday. Kind of like something you'd have seen on an old sign on Route 66.

Thanks all. I ordered it! It is from Potterybarn on clearance in their holiday section. something line $125 marked down to $59 and then I had a coupon. It is basically 22x22 inches - so not huge.

I agree cindyloo I think in a playroom you won't say OMG! what is she doing with that christmas star up! But I wanted to see if that made sense to anyone else. :)

I have to admit, we put up blue LED christmas lights up over our fireplace and two windows (basically across the top of one wall) in the familyroom and I like them so much they have not come down. I am now thinking of them as fairy lights. :) I may leave them up. I think they are fun and pretty.

I am having a lot of fun turning what used to be my dining room in to a playroom and my older son (3.5) just loves it. He wants to be in there everyday! Best thing I ever did was empty that room out and sell that DR set.

I think you are going in a very good direction with your decor. Choosing to use things in a different way will make your decor unique and personal. That star is very cute and your son's reaction is priceless. Love the idea of "fairy lights" and will be leaving out a box or 2 of mini-lights as I pack Christmas away. Don't know how or where I'll use them but they'll lighten one corner or another!

As far as the little white lights, in our old house there was a neighbor a few blocks away. They had a cute, charming house, and a front garden with a picket fence, etc. They left little white lights up all year. For the type of house and the artful, sort of haphazard looking way the lights were, it looked great.

Luckily I ordered it. They are all out now! I was tempted to get another one for my hallway. Or two more to put three over the longer expedit. Sometimes I go overboard like that. :)

I had a feeling it might sell out. I wonder if others will use it year round too.

I don't think it looks holiday at all, either. Sale price, and you definitely can have it on display year-round--score!!!

We originally purchased a set of the twig reindeer from PB last year, on sale, as holiday decor. But, they look like the deer who visit our yard year-round, so we decided to keep them out all year as well.

They look great cat_mom. :)

I have some snowmen that light up. I love accent lighting in the house at this time of year!
