Displaying Holiday Cards

Anticipating the large number of Christmas and holiday cards I will receive, I was wondeirng if you all could share your clever ways to display them. In the past, I would just gather them in a nice basket and put on an end table in the family room. This year, however, I have chosen to take part in a "basset hound" holiday card exchange and I expect to receive 30+ photo cards. I would like to display them so my kids and I can enjoy them. Awhile back I remember seeing a homemade display made by attaching some hooks or clips of some sort to lengths of colorful ribbon that were hung on a door. Any other ideas?

I did the ribbon display a few years. Think I got the idea from Martha.

We like to pick a blank wall (move a picture if we have to) and arrange the cards on the wall in some vague semblance of a pine tree. Cheesy, but effective. :^D I just tape 'em right to the wall; I haven't had the paint peel when removing them yet.

Dog people are the best for cards; I had a couple who sent me Christmas card photos of their two Maltese dressed in Holiday finery every year for over ten years, until the "girls" passed away. Sigh.

Maybe you can post some of the Bassets? :^)

Interesting....three cards that I sent were received (Shirleysjc, Breanne and Ellie, Darrins wife) and another three cards that I sent are somewhere, wherever somewhere is.....RE: the three cards that are "somewhere", those persons have not been on here to post that they received from anyone. So either they have been out of town or they have not received or they have received and have not gotten on here to post. Off memory, I have received FOTESS cards from Shirley (sjc), Shirley (brittneysgran), Maggie and Breanne. I did post for each one but am not sure if they are still visible....posts do have a way of disappearing....kind of like Samantha on "Bewitched" LOL! Shirley, I do enjoy your December FOTESS swap. Urooj, thank you for the beautiful jeweled card! I was surprised to receive a FOTESS card, and a little sheepish. I started to join this swap, but the instructions said I needed to have participated in a swap this year, and I'm ashamed to say, if I had, I couldn't remember it. I have not done much in the way of swaps this year at all. Hope everyone is having a great holiday, and again, thank you to JDMom78. I loved it!

I will try to confirm this from my end, but if you signed up for the card swap you should have received 4 cards back from FOTESS members. They may not be the same people who you sent to. I just made sure 4 were in each group. Anyway, let me know if there is a problem. The mail was so "iffy" I think some people may have sent and perhaps they were not received. Which is okay with me, but if you you didn't receive at least 3 back, let me know and I will check further. It was not the ideal year for trying to get things mailed and delivered.

I keep them in a gold-painted star-shaped basket on a hall table. If you want to look at them, you have to take them out of the basket.

I also save the picture cards from year to year in a photo album that I keep on the coffee table. It's fun to see the kids get older each year!

My solution isn't clever, but it works! I just tape 'em to the open door between my kitchen and dining room. No fuss, and we can see them all easily and often.
