Winterfrost Dishes & More Christmas Decor

Ohhhh...I always love getting out the Pfalzgraff Winter Frost dishes for the Winter season ... I started this collection back in 2001-02 & the dishes were discontinued in 2006. A couple years ago I bought another 4 place setting @ a much higher price to complete my set. Love 'em & we use them as 'everyday' in the Winter.

Here is some of my collection on the kitchen island/half wall:

Here's my fridge with the big bowl (I use it for 'punch' during the holidays) & these pottery snowmen I've had for some yrs now, too...I just love 'em:

Added the Winter Frost goblets along w/some crystal pcs (Santa, sleigh & a pine tree) to the shelf above the sliding glass doors in the dining area next to the kitchen:

I bought some battery lights for up there but the strand is 33 ft long...way too long for that area ...so I'm still looking...may just try some 'timer' faux candles. ;-)

I happened upon 4 footed dessert glass pcs while browsing @ Goodwill last yr ...for $1 each .... whoa, I grabbed those 'babies' smiling all the way to the check-out! Here they are displayed on a glass cake plate in my kitchen...I also added 2 beautiful glass ornaments w/silver stripes (you can see one in the front right glass) & 2 silver bird napkin rings:

On this same counter (by my countertop stove) is this 'tin' I found @ Hobby Lobby a couple yrs ago ...using my 40% off coupon ~~ plus another 'chunky pottery snowman' ...did I say I just love this guys! ;-) The small blue crock I found in a consignment store a few yrs ago, too:

Above this area kitchen area is my 'end cupboard' which I am always 'changing up' ... these 2 snowmen prints I just bought a few mos ago ... aren't they just adorable! I did buy these 'new' but the price was right! I'll still be adding a few vintage Christmas postcards to the black mirror hanging:

You may have noticed that little shelf w/snowmen...here's a closer view... hubby made that shelf from old barnwood a long time ago... a few yrs back I painted it a creamy white. Can you tell I love snowmen!!!

They are beautiful dishes, Jeanne, and you're right about the glassware being a total knock-out! I'm so glad you were able to complete the set and can use them regularly. I remember your gorgeous snowmen and I absolutely love them!!!

And I just realized it's time to bring out my Debbie Mumm Snowman stuff! :)

Thanks all. :-) I'm looking forward to setting up a "pumpkin themed" table for the brunch we're having on Thanksgiving for my parents. I'll switch out the centerpiece to include my large ceramic pumpkin tureen (it matches the little bowls I just got) and the bowls will be serving pieces for that meal. I'll post pictures when I get it all set up. DD, I really didn't do much decorating. A table in the living room, the fireplace mantle, the front window, and the outdoor basket is all (aside from the dining table, of course). All very minimally done. My thanksgiving stuff fits in three smallish boxes...a far cry from the tubs and boxes for Halloween. You're right, I don't have the energy for much after October! :-)

Jeanne...Dollbaby looks so adorable and so festive..pearls and all!! I remember the picture of you wearing 'her' outfit..you look so cute and what a kick that you can enjoy it again on Dollbaby! Her nativity is so sweet. I remember you saying it was from your parents...what a treasure to have. I love your wall basket. You did a beautiful job on it, and your buffet also looks beautiful as usual. Great buy on the pinecone wreath...looks perfect with your new candle. I'm also loving the twig stars. I found one at GW w/o a price..but when I went to ask how much...they wanted too much (I thought) for it. I like how you placed them on the buffet with the deer and the lighted jar. Ummmm...this post is from Dec. 1st & today is Dec. 12th ...& am still decorating! Well, I miss a day now & then to go shopping or do a little volunteer work ...I think it's about time to put the 'totes away' & call it good! Time to wrap pkgs & work on some Christmas gifts...LOL! Anyway, for Jane...this is one of those 'remote control' candles WORKING again this yr! I thought you would be pleased to know that ...cause you use them so beautifully on your mantle. I usually don't do much holiday decorating beyond the tree, but this year I couldn't wait to get started. We're taking a DIY approach and it's more winter decorating than holiday. I was so inspired by the thread on holiday decorating in Colonial Williamsburg. We visited colonial Williamsburg last month, so it was fun to do something sort of in that style. It's something I've never seen here in the PNW. Here's the wreath I made: I have a big wooden pear on my table, so I just decorated around it. My kids helped me pick up the Giant Sequoia pine cones. My girls made paper snowflakes and we put them on all the front windows. I put a garland along the window sill and added some lights, with the idea that it would gently light the snowflakes at night. This is lit just by the bulbs on the garland: I started needle felting recently and I've made a few Christmas ornaments so far. Some of these will go on the tree and some will be given to friends and neighbors. I hope to make a lot more. This post was edited by TheRedHouse on Tue, Nov 26, 13 at 22:54

Jeanne, I always look forward to seeing your winterfrost dishes and snowies. So happy you found the set of footed matching dessert glasses. Isn't it fun to keep adding to your collections?
I remember when Candy found a set of these winterfrost glasses last year while on one of her shopping sprees.

I love your tin with the little girl. So precious and looks great in
your counter vignette. Love the shelf with glasses, crystal and blue balls. To bad your lights are to long for this shelf. I'm sure you'll figure out where to use them. You always display things so nice.

Your snowman prints beside your shelf w/snowies is so cool. Looks like you have snowies up, down and all around! Yep,

Jeanne, I love seeing your winterfrost dishes they are perfect for this time of year and it's great you can use them all winter long.
The dessert dishes were a real find.
The snowmen prints are awesome and the little snowmen are delightful. They look like they are basking in the sun but they better not stay too long or they will melt!!!
