I have a large sample of White Dove here, and a small chip of Old Praire (I have the BM deck). They do look good together. It looks like enough contrast . It does not look like you were trying to match the cab colour, but missed (I think Swiss Coffee might have looked like a miss). Hopefully we will hear back from Lori. I am curious if she still recommends a crisper white like Cotton Balls, expecially after seeing the warmth in the counter and floor. I have found this post educational and am always glad to hear what Lori has to say on colours. Carol

Contrasting trim is only apparent when you have a real contrast, something that's evident to the naked eye, like a much more saturated color on either trim or walls. Subtle contrasts of white are so difficult to achieve properly and cause a lot of angst in homeowners. The best and simplest choice is to use the same white on the trim as on the walls, but in a different sheen, usually matte on the walls and semi-gloss or satin on the trim. This gives a slight contrast in texture but the colors won't fight with each other. Here's an example of white walls with a contrasting trim color: This one is painted all in one color--trim, walls, ceiling, for a very sophisticated cohesive look: Here's a room with trim and walls the same with a nice contrast of white on the ceiling and mantel: This is an example of white trim with a light color on the walls (BM Navajo White on trim and Abington Putty on walls). You can still perceive the difference but it's not too stark: White on white is a perfect backdrop for furnishings and rustic brick. No need to bother with contrasting whites:

@KW PNW Z8 - Yes! We are in the PNW! Thank you so much for the recommendation, I love evergreens and am excited to explore your recommendations. I've brought the landscaping a long way, but definitely still a ways to go. Will explore and let you know how it goes. The area was filled with rocks before, which you may be able to see in the picture. I pulled them all out and removed old debris and weeds. Once the gutters are done, I plan to lay down weed barrier and add the rocks back, but adding some plants. I wrote a separate post about that and people gave me some great ideas for how to bring that space to life. I like the idea of incorporating color into that space to tie everything together. And yes. We've been renovating for a few months now. Getting close to the end!
