Comments (4)We just got the Samsung rfg297aars right before Christmas. I'm not sure what the difference is. I just looked up your model and it looks identical to mine. While I can't give a great review since we've only had it for about three months, I am very happy with it. Very spacious interior. We had a smaller side by side that I hated. The interior layout works very well for our family - 2 adults, 4 kids. So far, the only negative is that the water dispenser is at a funny angle so you have to position things with a small opening carefully - like my kids water bottles. Otherwise the water spills out. The fridge itself is veery quiet but when it drops a load of ice into the bin, it's loud. Fortunately that doesn't happen too often. I was leery about getting the ice/water dispenser on the door since that is where most repairs occur, but we all drink a ton of water and I didn't want my kids constantly opening the fridge to get cold water. All in all, I'm very happy with our puchase. I don!t have any of your other appliances but am seriously considering the GE Cafe dual fuel range. My friend has the all gas one and loves it. I admire it every time I am in her kitchen! While I'd love a 36" or even 48" range , I just don't have space. The Cafe has a nice burner layout. Good luck!...See MoreHelp with kitchen Layout, complete remodel!
Comments (18)Here is what I had come up with without moving walls but moving the entry from the mudroom down. This would give a perimeter with overhang of 25 1/2" + 48" between perimeter and island, with a 24" island with overhang would bring it to 26 1/2" and that would leave a 3' wide walkway behind the island. Andre would have to move the sink in the mud room though but if he's not willing to move into the media room, this might work....See Morecomplete kitchen remodel help
Comments (11)get rid of the door. or reverse the swing so it's on the outside. no to 'no oven'. people want ovens! no to the 15" cabs. you might as well put shelving. If you move fridge across(have no idea what it will look like because I can't see anything), that would leave u room for a DW, if you really need it. look into prefab granite countertops. they run about 400 for a 9' counter. hire a fabricator to cut it for you. Do your own subway backsplash. look on craigslist for a ss stove. look for floor models, slightly damaged or lightly used. Also look on there for countertops. sometimes people redo their kitchens and unload their counters. Look for remnants and leftover tile. great deals. I can't see what's over the sink so do your shelving there, and next to it if you move the fridge....See MoreComplete kitchen remodel.
Comments (10)This is your old cabinetry, yes? If you haven't already ordered new, I would put things on hold to get a better layout, including moving the cooktop from the island. You've got a pretty easy fix: move the cooktop to the left of the dishwasher, and vent right out the wall. Get rid of the corner lazy Susan, and straighten out the run. Square up your island and make it a longer rectangle, and you'll get loads more storage and extra seating for your large family. As far as your original question: I also have 4 kids. We removed the trash compactor in our remodel, because we didn't like it. I do have a mini fridge for drinks, but it's in the basement. And I don't see the purpose of adding a dish drawer, personally... I just have two dishwashers, and love it. The price of dish drawers is pretty high, and if you're taking up the space, why not get a full-sized one for less? I see the benefit of a drawer for a small household of 1-2 people, where running a full load doesn't happen often, but with a family of 6, we use both dishwashers on a regular basis. And you've got a perfect spot to add a second dishwasher on the right side of the sink....See MoreUser
