I was such a good wife :-)

DH called me last night. (For anyone who came late to the party, DH works 100km away in the city so he only comes home on the weekends. Sometimes I go down to visit him :-) ). "There's a Megan Washington concert on (one of his favourite performers) and I can't remember if I bought tickets. I remember thinking about doing so, but it was about 18 months ago if I recall correctly and now I can't remember if I did. Do you remember if I bought tickets?"

Now, when _I_ buy event tickets, I always get them to mail me the actual tickets. Then I get my Magic Marker out and write in big black letters on the outside of the envelope, "EVENT...DATE...TIME...VENUE". Then it goes on the fridge in date order on a magnet clip, so I'm seeing it every day to know if we've got something coming up.

When DH buys event tickets, it's different. Getting stuff in the mail is so yesterday for him. He usually gets the tickets emailed to him, or sent to his iPhone. So unless he flags it and puts the date in his calendar, there's no reminder.

There were no tickets on the fridge. I couldn't find a likely online ticket purchase in our bank records. All I could suggest is that he search his email or call the venue to see if they had any record. An hour later, he forwarded me the email which said he had bought tickets and optioned to collect them at the venue (I hate doing that unless I bought the tickets too late for the post, because it can make things a little rushed if the line is long). Yay! We're going out this Friday :-)

AT NO TIME did I say (though I did have to resist the urge :-) )

"You know, THIS is why I get the tickets mailed out."

I am a good wife :-)
