It's nuts! Kohler has no authorized repair people near me. The two names given that are far away...one is on vacation and I'm waiting for a call back on the other. I'm not holding my breath that they will travel that far for a crack repair that I have to pay for, not Kohler. Kohler white is a very different white compared to most whites so it has to be someone who knows of the Kohler white. Otherwise, it will be extremely noticeable. "If" they can even fix it.

That's ridiculous. It's obviously an error in manufacturing. They need to send out a rep or something for the amount of money it's going to cost you to fix this problem. Some here say taking it to social media is good if you can't get anywhere. Judge Judy would be on your side.

Yes, I'm extremely frustrated to put it mildly. The guest bath didn't need anymore remodeling. I don't have pilles of excess cash for this. We were hoping for another hurricane window or two this year. The garden window in the kitchen is not stable. This really bites!

Can you use silicone sealer over it just so your guests can shower?

My guests aren't here yet. I don't think its usable with a silicone sealer as that crack will open/spread more now that its started. My aunt was meant to come this year with her husband but I think when it comes up I will put them off for now. She has a place on the other coast where she stays in the late fall and winter. However, further into the season it will be a problem as a few friends I have know most of my life and those I have re-connected with are meant to come .

How frustrating! I tried that tub out in a showroom, but it wasn't comfortable on my back so I went with something else. Now I'm glad I did. Good luck in getting it resolved.

Yes I think it would be risky to buy a Kohler fiberglass tub. I also have a kohler fiber tub in my master bath but it's a different model. I sure hope that one will be okay. I bought this 1983 house about four years ago and it needed a lot of remodeling. It's very upsetting to think you have a room done only to have it fall apart, especially when there is still more to do, especially when it's a guest bath.

Oh no! I'm glad to have the warning, because I just recently sat in an Archer tub in a showroom and really liked it, but was hesitant about not using cast iron. Shoot.

I have a Kohler Expanse and it has been fine. Before I my bathroom renovation, I checked out my neighbor's Archer and it was not a sturdy. It was kind of bendy. I do really dislike my Kohler bathtub fixtures.

I hope Kohler makes it right for you.

Oh and I just thought of another thing that bites. "IF" it can be repaired and "IF" I can get someone to travel all this way to do it I will want to reopen the wall in my closet to check the fill under the tub and possibly add more if needed. That will mean taking out all the new closet built-ins. So, it's a huge domino.

Ah geez... This kind of thing is SO frustrating. I had no idea a fiberglass tube would do this. Glad I have my ancient cast iron/enamel ones.
