Over winter Tomato and Pepper Indoor

I am trying to save a yellow cherry tomato and a pepper plant this coming winter. Digged them out of garden 3 weeks ago and moved them to basement of house. They can get less than 1 hour sun each day there, plus some led and fluorescent grow light. They recovered from transplant shock well, now continue to flower and fruit. The 2 close up photos are new fruit set indoors. The lighting is less than ideal, especially the tomato is really stretch out searching for light. But if they can hanging there through the cold season, then I can move them out and leave in the pots for next summer.

Everyone done this with success? Any tips? The most concern I have is the potential fungus gnat outbreak. I did soak the soil surface and spray the entire plant with diluted hydrogen peroxide. Also food grade Diatomaccous Earth is spread on the soil surface.

I tried to grow my own produce in winter in the basement last year, but had to throw everything out mid winter because of gnats problem.
