Does anyone still have pieces to my mother Jade I shared!

Here she is....I have seen pics of ones that resemble her, but I can't remember whom I shared her with and if she has been passed on to others..NO ONE had this particular jade until I shared it years ago and it makes me wonder where all the original owners are and how theirs are doing? Flowers yet? But at least the bark has a very nice color, most unusual..
She should be flowering as soon as this room gets cool at night. It's been like summer here for days.So, no blossoms yet

I've been meaning to show you an updated pic and then I was side tracked, went to California rather last minute. I'm so happy to be home with my kitties and plants :) I finally had time to water them, so I brought them all outside. Then I heard about the frost warning, and brought them all back indoors. Anyways, I snapped some fresh pics...

Comments (128)Thanks for all the pictures. Are you satisfied as-is or do you have plans for pruning/directing growth? I'm not saying it needs change, it is beautifully shaped as-is. Just wondering what your plans are. It would be brash indeed to insist this go into a gritty mix since it has done so well in its current soil. Caution is definitely worth repeating however. If a person waters appropriately the plant can thrive in a water-retentive soil. The problem comes in when someone waters frequently, waters some more as the answer to all plant problems, and waters still some more to fulfill some nurturing tendency(that'd be me). The soil then tends to stay soggy, and the plant spends a lot of energy repairing and replacing waterlogged roots instead of growing. If this continues the plant is at risk to be overwhelmed with root rot and death. At that point there are not enough roots to use the water, and the soil is destined to stay soggy until the haggard plant is rescued, or it simply gives up the ghost. With an appropriate gritty mix, the waterlogged condition never occurs, thus it is safer for the novice/casual grower, though under watering can slow plant growth too. (With a quicker wet-dry cycle in a gritty mix, faster root growth can occur and subsequently faster plant growth. Another advantage.) Comments (37)My mother passed away April 13th 2022. she raised me and my sister, as a single mother. she worked 2 jobs to ptovide for us, but we took her for granted as children. When the mother of my 2 children passed away in 2016, my mother moved in with us. My mother helped raise my daughter(16 now) and my son(15 now) for almost a decade. My mother was more than just my best friend, she was my only friend. i have complex PTSD, and she was the only one that i trusted enough to talk about the war with… she went with me to the VA, when i had to. she gave me strength, she always seemed to understand things that other people either couldnt or didnt want to understand… my dog died about a month before my mother did… 2022 has taken a lot from me and my 2 children… they saw her as a mother, as much as me… i go from feeling numb to feeling deep sadness and loss… i don‘t want to give up, but i always needed her support. she died from cancer, after being on immunotherapy for 2 years… she suffered from many side effects, for most of her treatment. she became so thin near the end that it was painful to see her like that… i was with her until the end, and it may sound strange but i held her for some time after she died and just sobbed onto her… i talk to her still thst she is dead for months, but i still wake up thinking that she is alive… i beli my mother is in heaven, but selfishly i just want my mom back… i miss my only friend… i miss the only selfless person that i ever met… i feel so empty, and i did not think that id feel so lost… she gave me direction when i didnt know what to do… i hope this posts, it does give comfort to know that i am not a...See MoreThe 'Mother Unnamed Jade I shared..How are the cuttings these days?

Well yes, I do seem to have grown my collection lately, as one does :) I swapped from plumerias to Adeniums and succulents, mainly jades really after losing my last plumie a good while back. The scent of one of those plumeria flowers was amazing, but they just didn't do it for me for a good 7 months....they just looked like sticks! Comments (59)I've always loved cookie jars but the only one I've bought is a Pillsbury Dough Boy one from 25-30 years ago. It got put away when my boys were little so it wouldn't get broken and now it sits in one of those over the cabinet display cabinets where it creeps out my future DIL. I went to a plain glass jar -- one for us and one for the dog treats. Only one guest has eaten a dog treat - and that one came out of a package that was supposed to look like bakery cookies. It was when my son was in high school and she asked if they were a little old. There was so much laughter....See More
