does it hurt to use bagged compost etc

cause I dont have much of my own,,,,and wanna move to a smaller place

most of the bags of stuff I bought were really wet...Finally I bought qute a bit of bags on end of season clearance like humus, top soil, MG compost....

But now have them on a pallet under a ean to shed

I noticed one of my( prob 3 gallon) pots was smelling. I just have forgotten to make dainage holes. Hubby drilled one for me. But that small collard seedling I bought hasnt grown any at all. It ( the 3 gal sized pot) still has a bush bean plant in it... which I transplanted after it was say 12 inches tall. Its still alive though....

we had lots of rain a day ago... so should dump that planter and see exactly what I put in it for that "soil" to try to save the precious Collard plant...????

I remember to save on filling ALL THE POTS....I used old wood chips as a base or mulch...cause some of my pots are 10 or 15 and 20 gallon sized...so that a lot of "dirt"

thanks yall
