Joanie - the pillows just go on the floor between the nightstand and window. And yes, some days I'm lazy and don't completely make the bed, but just sort of pull the covers up and plop the two king sleeping pillows on top. The shutters do block light quite well. I'm sensitive to outside lights (and noises), and have a hard time falling to sleep unless everything is just so. Have never had an issue with the shutters not doing what I need them to do. ;-)

I'm not a fan of any of those options...for various reasons. Mostly because the style/scale as well as the tone doesn't look like it would compliment the bed.....although without links hard to know. The Bernhardt nightstands in your pic from Haverty's are 40 W x30 H x21 D. That is why they don't look dwarfed by the bed. Do you have room to do something like the pic Penny posted? Basically a simple open rectangle with a sturdy leg? Another thing I'd consider is taking a look at kids' dressers/desks. I like the light, neutral background of your walls and rug, but I would add some brightness and personality with colorful bedding and art. If you find a colorful quilt you like, you might choose a color from it to paint your bathroom walls for a coordinated look.

Those are great in MCM space . Do you really need a wood burning FP? They also need to be far from any combustible wall they get very hot. Have you looked a gel fireplaces ?It would be helpful to see your space so wecan suggest something for your style. Post pics here in commants DO NOT start another post.
