LOL, I have to admit - I am posting to psych myself up to actually make some pies on the weekend. I really like pumpkin pie but am distracted with other things going on right now and it is an add on at this point.

My husband thought I was odd eating it cold. Seems like he is the minority on this one:).

Cold . . . second room temp but never HOT! And plenty of cold whipped cream -- real cream, whipped in a mixer -- not canned not Cool Whip!

Room temperature. Don't think I've ever had it warm, or very cold, either. But I love it, and would happily scarf it down regardless of temperature!

Cool or room temperature. I've never had it hot, and this is the first I've heard of that option. You have to chill it after it is baked to make it set. Even if you make the filling on the stove top, you still have to chill it. I would not eat a Bavarian cream pie hot either.

I would prefer it cold or room temp and would never heat it, but recently I was served crustless pumpkin pie (just the filling baked in a pie pan), straight from the oven, with a choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. It was yummy!

Room temperature is acceptable, but just short of being icy is preferred. Hot is nearly noxious for me.

Cold to cool. My cool might be someone else's room temp, but I don't want it ambient. I'll scrape off the whipped cream even if it's the good kind. :)

I prefer cold, straight from the refrigerator with cold, real whipped cream. Never heated.

Prefer cold but will eat it room temp. I think when it is hot it tastes more squash like than pie like.

I usually make ones for myself without the crust, baked in a soufflé dish. Hot with cream? Delish! Room temp? Great? Cold from the referring for breakfast? Sublime!

Lars, I've never in my life had to chill a pumpkin pie to make it set. They are put on racks on the counter until serving time, and they are always 'set', never had one 'run'. So I'm curious about your recipe. I use the one on the Libby's can of pumpkin (NOT the pumpkin pie filling!), may I ask what your recipe is?

Corrected "crystals" to CRUST! Yes, auto spell is often a royal pain.

The Libby's recipe is still the best, in my opinion. I've eaten some awful pumpkin pie over the years and could never understand why they didn't just use the Libby's recipe.

Pumpkin pie? Yes, please. Hot is fine, so is cold, so is room temperature, I like it all but prefer it without crust.
