Remakes of Classic Movies
Comments (16)Watched a remake of "It Happened One Night" with Claudet Colbert and Clark Gable. It was just two days ago and already I forget the name of the remake. It starred Jack Lemon and June Allison. It held pretty much to the story line, but it's hard to beat Clark Gable and Claudet Colbert. I would say its getting near time for a remake of the remake!! Also I remember being halfway though the remake of A Love Affair with Cary Grant and Jean Kerr...the Warren Beatty and Annette Benning movie....before I realized it was even the same movie!...See Moredo you use Netflix streaming video?
Comments (22)I would also say check your cable provider. We got a new box with much faster download speeds. Previously, we could not have the laptops running if someone was watching streaming Netflix, but now we have enough bandwidth to run everything. We have Amazon Prime now, but we dropped Netflix streaming awhile ago because a lot of the series we wanted to watch were not available. No HBO programming is available streaming. SInce we got Prime, we suspended the Netflix. DH has had the account forever and just deactivates and reactivates it when he wants to....See MoreIf you have Apple TV/Roku/any other movie-streaming device
Comments (7)We have a Roku ... the company I work for has a wireless chip inside so a number of us at the office were given the Roku as a Christmas present a couple years ago. The Roku is very, very easy to use. Setup probably took all of five minutes. When Netflix was not charging to stream videos, it was a very good deal but now they charge $8 for mail order DVDs and $8 for streaming. Old movies aren't all that hard to find in regular programming with the cable service we have but I love watching documentaries, which are harder to come by, so streaming is good for that. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. Jodi-...See Moreold classics
Comments (35)Veer: thanks for that info. I did not realise that the Archers were still going. They must have gone through thousands of storylines in all that time! I have been reading the revised paperback version of "What Jane Austen ate..." and found it very informative. Just a couple of mistakes still in referring to lower case dukes earls etc. specifically. Otherwise I enjoyed it apart from someone scribbling and underlining, luckily in pencil. It is a wet weekend now, nothing much to do, so I might take an eraser to it before returning it to my library. (Oops! I originally wrote 'rubber' but believe that might give the wrong mental image to some people!) Rouan: What a good idea. I will try that myself when I have to rest my eyes and cannot read or watch TV for a while....See MoreFunkyart
