old classics

My daughter (23) has been taking on the classics this summer. She asked me this morning, "Do you have trouble with these books because of the language?" She said she thinks it takes her longer to read because the style and language are different than the current genre she usually reads. I said I didn't because I started reading the classics a long, long time ago, when I was still in elementary school. My son (19) had trouble reading Huck Finn because he said he hard a time with the language also. By kids are readers so it isn't simply that they aren't used to reading. I was just wondering if other people noticed this.
