Pear Pie

User

A friend gave me a box of pears -- they're the kind that grows here and I'm not sure what kind they are -- but they are hard and green and they don't really soften much (they rot first). I had to make pies for a potluck today and I chose to make them out of the pears.

the pies before the top crust went on

And after they're baked.

It was a simple recipe:

PEAR PIE

6 cups sliced pears (per pie)

3/4 c. sugar

2 T. flour

1 t. nutmeg (or you can use cinnamon)

Mix all together in a big bowl and pour into a pie tin lined with pie crust. Top with second crust and bake for 35 to 45 minutes in a 425 oven.

Couldn't be more simple!
