Lamp for teen bedroom & how to attach the shade?
Comments (10)justgottabeme: You were right! I went to a different Target store today as I knew the store I got these lamps from didn't have any more of the taller one. Right away I noticed the lamps at the other store had the top part like your lamp and the shades fit snuggly on top of that. I still have both sizes of the lamps and shades as I've yet to decide which one to keep. It's been my observation that most of the kid/teen lamps don't seem adequate to read in bed so I'll have DD try them both out at night to see which lamp (and wattage) is better for reading--since she tends to stay up late studying during the school year. DD leaves this weekend for a 5-day soccer camp and I'll paint her room while she is away--by which time her bedding and WTs shouldv'e arrived and then we can get a better feel which of the two works best. Only con is I cannot find a black shade yet in the smaller size--so at this point I'd need to use the striped one....See MoreSmall bedroom design TINY BOX of a bedroom
Comments (45)mammapinky Yes, they are. I did that on purpose. I wanted a different illusion than just the mirrors hanging, if that makes sense. I want the mirrors and curtains anchoring the bed, like a headboard. Thank you! To everyone mentioning the mirror height, don't tell my husband! (lol) He absolutely hates hanging curtains, shelves, mirrors and paintings. haha I'll have to wait to the weekend or a day we both have the time and we shall raise them. I'll have to ease him into it. ;) Should they go the same height as the curtains? Thing is, raising them any higher and the bottom of the mirrors show, which is not the effect I was going for. :/ chickadee2_gw Wow, thank you so much! :) I truly find this sight inspiring. I really appreciate all of the help you all have to offer! :) And now I can finally move on to the kitchen! rebeccamomof123 That really made me smile. :) I am so thrilled with how it all turned out and it is so nice having people to share it with, who understand. :) Thank you so much!...See MoreAdvice needed: tiny teen bedroom layout/decor (colors/patterns ect)
Comments (1)I am interested to find a way forward with cyan, purple and yellow! What a challenge. I have teen boys too. Some boys care a lot about how their room looks, some boys don't care at all---I have both in my house, ha. First of all, you need to add to this thread a room layout. That will help. Next, with those colors, I would think in terms of a yellow comforter, cyan (bright blue, right?) colored sheets, maybe, and a little dash of purple here and there. Maybe some art or a wall hanging/tapestry (or a rug) with those colors can give you something to pull colors from. You haven't mentioned a budget?...See MoreTeen boys bedroom question
Comments (3)One thing to note about your inspo photos is neither have wood floors and you do - so I am not sure I would add another wood tone to the walls but that's personal preference. I like the Hale Navy but it's dark - maybe khaki walls and big lush navy rug? I think a nice cozy chair and ottoman with a floor lamp in the corner would be nice - a bamboo shade rather than the cellular one would warm up the room with some texture. I agree with @arcy_gw it would be good chat with your son about what he wants - my teen wanted a huge magnetic white board for photos, quotes etc.. so we did that on one wall of his room and he loves it...See MoreGina Hudson
