Obvious Question About Run Away Cars (Like Toyota)
Comments (25)Every electrical motor has a maximum rpm that it can turn without sustaining damage. Once that speed is exceeded, centrifugal force will pull the windings from the armature and they will bind into the stator. In the case of the Prius transaxle we are actually talking about a rotor assembly that has permanent magnets attached to it. Exceed the rated speed of that rotor and it will grenade. The engineers are correct. http://eahart.com/prius/psd/ In order for the gas engine to propel the car, MG1 actually has to be a generator and provide resistance for the engine to push against, as well as MG2 being a motor that helps the gas engine push the car. Using the java applets on the site I provided you get to see the normal operation of the motors in the transaxle, and how they work together. Take note there are times that MG1 actually is forced to spin backwards. The Prius has a maximum vehicle speed of 94mph, with the primary reason being risking over-revving the electric motors and causing a catastrophic failure of the transaxle. Comments (4)Because your units will be installed on the second floor, vibration that is not dampened by your washer will be transmitted through the building's structure. Depending on where the laundry space is located on the second floor, the construction of your residence, and where other walls are situated beneath the laundry location will all affect dampening, and thus your end results. The shipping bolts secure the washer drum dampening suspension, and must to removed to allow the suspension to work freely. Store the bolts for transporting the washer should the need arise. Rigid exhaust ducting is quieter than flexible resulting from less turbulence; it also last much longer....See MoreQuestions about the Bosch Nexxt 500 Series Washer: WFMC3301
Comments (9)I have the model Nexxt 500 3301 uc washer & love it! We replaced a nasty Neptune - painted laundry room & closet & sealed concrete floor before bringing in new machines - LOL! Paranoid about the mold which, interestingly we have NEVER had on Frigidaire FL at the beach in 5 1/2 yrs! We wipe down gaskets after use (with a bit of clean laundry before it goes into dryer LOL), keep door open & keep radiator-style space heater on very low in laundry room (not conditioned space) in winter & plan to reun dehumidifier in there in summer. Cycle average 60 minutes for cold-hot cycles, the XXtra sanitary is long but those crispy clean sheets & towels are worth waiting for! Our dryer was the previous model (w/o glass front) which was a return at Lowes b/c purchaser opted against gas - we got it for $275! It has run like a charm - we put it in ourselves (already had hookup). This made the package purchase much more palatable given the 5 year lifespan of the cr*ppo Neptune was way too pricey. We have had the units only a few months but they seem like they will be problem free - I do clean the lint from the grid inside where the removable filter is in the dryer - chopsticks work great but I will get one of those bottlecleaner bristly brushes at some point - we have 3 cats & 2 dogs, hence lint/hair. This washer/dryer pair gets the hair off - a necessity in our house. I am still amazed at how really hot water gets whites truly white!...See MoreQuestion regarding 2 freezers on same outlet
Comments (23)"Best to put something visible on the circuit or invest in a freezer alarm." Other options. Turn the power strip over so the switch is facing down or to the side. Put a piece of tape over the switch. Design, build, and install a $500 cover to prevent rakes and pigeons and other objects from operating the switch. Hire a security service to hourly check that the freezer does not lose power due to falling rakes. Don't store rakes over or adjacent to the freezer. You should post a warning sign to help your wife not store items inappropriately. Plug a radio into the power strip and investigate the loss of power should the music die... unless it is the anniversary of February 3, 1959. Hire a lawn service for your yard and donate your rakes to Purple Heart. Use a power strip that doesn't have a switch. And the last I can come up with, get rid of one of the freezers so there is no need for a power strip that has a switch. Absolutely incredible job of making a mountain out of a mole hill....See MoreAlex Chicago
