Design Dilemma Home Decorating

please help with accent chairs and rug

Here is my current living room. The brown couch and grey accent chair stays along with TV console and TV. The rug will be removed. I am 50/50 with coffeetable. Would change for the right one. I would like to add two accent chairs on the other side of the couch and a console table on the back of the couch with an abstract or geometric pattern area rug of size around 9 by 12 or 10 by 13. Please throw in your suggestions. Thank you in advance!!

I had that chair in a camel color. It's a very comfortable lounge chair. I would do two accent chairs. I am sure others will give you good advice regarding colors/patterns.

I forgot to mention , i am thinking of navy or any blue for accent chair , but not sure whether i can make it work.

Firstly, to create a conversation area, all furniture's front legs should be on the area rug to create flow. Get a larger area rug and it should have some of the color of the accent chair. The idea is to have a rug which pulls everything together if your furniture is solid colors. A little pattern would do it. I would move the sofa on an angle so it faces the fireplace. Then move the chair to either the left or the right of the sofa and you may only need one more accent chair. Don't forget to add an end table with lighting. I think creating that focal point would be a good start by moving the furniture first.

@beverlyFLADeziner , i like the way to superimpose the pictures and show it on my livingroom. It helps me visualize better. I like the third rug, but not sure whether it is too bold for me I like the rug suggested by @celerygirl , want to go some colorful chair though. @Groveraxle you completelty changed my vision for this room. I should say , i would have never envisioned that rug/chair in my room , but once you put it i can see how they all come together with that nice wall art. How do you guys do that picture editing? This might really help me in figuring out the right furniture/rug for my space. Or can i post the rugs/chairs I am thinking , can someone help me visualize it with photos? Again thank you everyone for your great suggestions and your valuable time.

i also like one of these, they give natural difference in texture, it is very reasonable to buy blue cushion covers.

The first rug looks perfect, with some softness and texture, and with an interesting pattern. It would look nice with the navy blue chair.
