Assistance with Lawn Care

The image above is the front lawn of my new house. It is my first attempt at lawn care and hasn't gone as intended. When I purchased the house, the builder had put bermuda sod down but did not water it well so most of the interior parts of the front were thin and dying while the exterior (around concrete) was thicker. When I got the house, I made the mistake of using a drop spreader to distribute Scott's fertilize for new sod. What I ended up with was the zebra pattern you see above.

Since then, I got a better spreader and followed the Scott's fertilizing and water plan and it got much better. The grass is much thicker all around but I still have this zebra pattern. The lawn is healthy but I want it a consistent green color.

Also, I have an issue when mowing it. Even though the mower is set very high, the grass appears much less green after cutting it, which is the opposite of many of my neighbors have. Any feedback is appreciated.
