Need help choosing color please

After choosing a too light color for my roof I decided to make changes to landscape, shutters and color of block, etc.

I'm thinking blue for the shutters, but what should I paint the block that surrounds the basement and side of house and also what color should I paint the diagonal wall, porch and front door? Of the blues below, which would be best? I would love to add window boxes and new step railings. hat color should I paint the wall decoration that will go between the two bedrooms on the left? Thank you for any advice!

So you plan to add shutters and need an opinion on the color? I like the wall hanging that you'll be putting on the blank wall between windows and you might use an accent color after selecting the trim color. I'm sorry but I don't see the blocks that you speak of, so maybe they are a good color. Are they decorative enough to be highlighted with the trim color or better left rendered invisible by leaving them the color that they are?

You have a pretty mellow canvas so your possibilities are endless.

BTW, I only saw one blue in the color swatch that you added.

I couldn't suggest specific plants either since I don't know the best choices for your locale, nor the level of maintenance that you have time for or are willing to perform. What shrubs are there now and how are they doing? Perhaps you could simply relocate some of the existing shrubs to a more visually pleasing location and add your pops of annual color near the steps or under the windows? That big shrub on the left corner is not bad, might just need a trim or shaping. The shrubs nearest the street look as if they were plopped there and IMO should be relocated or removed.

Please excuse my old boots in the above photo! I'm planning on removing every bush and shrub and replacing with? I don't know!

Aside from wanting to replace all the existing shrubs, this request has nothing to do with landscaping!! And since we have no idea where on the planet you may be located, we can't even offer meaningful suggestions for those.

Try posting on your local regional gardening forum for plant suggestions.

I have the same problem a lot of people have oak trim everywhere! I just had the popcorn scrapped and am about to paint and i am leaning towards Shermin Williams Wheat Grass. hermustangs, if you'll read the "new to GW" thread below on this page (or if it's left this page by the time you read this, search for it) you'll find explicit instructions on how to post photos; very easy to do. I think you'll get many more responses if you include photos. I'm not good enough with colors personally to try to answer your questions without seeing the rooms. Good luck!

Just did a condo reno with Saddlebrook Farmhouse. In certain qualities of light it can look peachy. In others, it looks more blonde. I managed the peachy away by changing lighting. With that said, I would not recommend this color unless you like the peachy-brown color. Go with the other one that has less pattern and is more brown. As far as a paint color plan that has the best odds of working together in a range of light sources and appealing to a lot of people, this is my go-to formula. I would never call it "fool-proof" but the odds are good. Ceiling color PPG's Delicate White. Wall color BenM's Revere Pewter or SW's Drift of Mist. Cabinets, doors and trim SW Extra White. If PPG paint is an option, it's good quality and value and they can match other brand's color. PPG's Break Through on cabinets, doors, and trim is a godsend because it dries and cures quickly. PPG's Pure Performance in eggshell is awesome for walls.

I guess your post yesterday didn’t turn out any paint colors. You posted no pictures yesterday, so I understand why responses were vague, although good ones. You bedroom/bath is pretty blah…I see no accent color at all. Paint the wall a rich gray blue…and the vanity white. The mirrors …they just doesn’t make it with the white window next to it…in the same shape... Replace with two different mirrors. Normally, you have the same mirror over each sink, but you can’t do that. Something simple, oval, the finish of the faucet. If you really need that other mirror choose something out of the ordinary, If you din’t need a mirror a great canvas would brighten the space up.

Well, this is only the 2nd time I've posted on Houzz and the website suggested I pick 3 topics to post under. So I posted under Design Dilemma, Exterior and Landscape Design. All three topics are in mentioned in my post. I'm in East Tennessee, zone 7a. So, thanks for your patience and understanding with a new member.

I would remove the shrubs near the curb. I can't see the foundation shrubs now but you should consider keeping them.

I would match the color of the siding and paint the bare wood.

Blue shutters will be fine but you might be content with just painting door and window trim in an accent color.

The shrubs used to be huge till I cut them back, but they are being removed as are the azaleas under the windows. They don't bloom long enough in the season to warrant keeping them. I really like ornamental grasses and lavender.

The block is painted black on my house. It can be seen on the sides, but especially the back of house. I haven't thought about painting the door the same as the trim as I can't imagine what color would look good?

Emmarene, if I was to only paint the door and window trim, what color would you suggest? Here is the house after the ugly roof was installed, but before I removed the black shutters.

Yes, I've gone back and forth so many times. After looking at the blue shutters in the light I have decided to go with brown shutters and not sure about door color.

I came home from work today and my neighbor was trimming my azaleas! I guess I'll keep them?

This is the wrong time of year to trim azaleas. Your neighbor just cut off all the flower buds for next spring's flowers.
