Nice home. Would not paint the brick. The shades-of-brown roof you have works with the brick but so would a shades-of-gray colored roof. If the roof color is the one that will stay, you might consider painting the fascia and gutter a shade of brown color common to both brick and roof. Might consider some landscaping changes. You can make the front entry of your home its focal point rather than the surrounding brick. You could add pavers to outline your sidewalk and/or plant low growing plants, such as liriope (if it grows well in your planting zone) to outline one or both sides of your sidewalk. If you use stone or faux stone for the outline pavers, you could continue that look around the entry door. Rather than paint the brick at the entry, you could cover the brick beneath your portico or porch immediately around the door with siding or a faux stone to get a look you find appealing. Strategically placed shrubs and hedges can minimize the visual impact of an exterior wall with less potential for damaging the house. Large trees too close to the ho use can result in root damage to the foundation or having the tree or its limbs. During the cold weather of winter is the time to move trees ... when the sap is down -- to save any you move with your new landscaping -- but in a new location. Will Aucuba bushes, which keep their leaves and look good year round, grow well in your planting zone? Good luck with your curb appeal efforts. Do post after pics.

We will plan on using either the comforter currently on the bed (mainly lavendar based) - which I read isn't a great color for north facing bedrooms). The other comforter/bedding is the following: Perhaps it'd be nice to paint the walls a pretty green color that complements the green by the cardinal. (Don't like too yellowy/olive greens though). Any suggestions on a green paint for north facing bedroom ? (would the green paint also work with the purple comforter)?

that's a very prominant roof, both in color and in placement. I wouldn't do blue siding. Bring home samples of siding so you can place it on the front of your house and view it w/your roof. I'd do a soft white, charcoal/black, copper accents. These colors I love the wrought iron color. you could do that on the siding Or, leave the stucco in the front, do that in the creamy white, and do the charcoal siding or shingles around the garage door. do a wood garage door you might be able to have those tiles painted. Here's that color roof w/a green. (I don't care for this one. that roof you have is just too "in your face" for this color combo this is basically what a blue color would look like against the tiles. just, NO. You could do a soft white siding and accent w/this blue on the door, or trim color If you like this soft grayish blue, Try a Platinum color w/the darker charcoal for the trim or use the white for the trim color

This appears to be token living room. There's really only room for an apt. sized sofa and a lounge chair. I don't see any place to mount a TV for this space. What exactly is your definition of wainscotting. If you are planning to add full height strips to the walls I'm all for that as it will visually heighten the appearance of the rooms. A half height is just going to make your walls appear shorter and I would avoid that. The Windsor Hoop back chairs are a bit too 'kitcheny' for this space. Select a chair that either matches or contrasts the table. No turned spindle legs.
