Which color for painted brick with this tan/cedar roof?

Design Dilemma! Hello everyone! I have a raised ranch on a corner lot, with red face brick and orange-ish common brick on the sides and back. The roof is fairly newer, and from what I can tell the color is a cedar/tan color. What painted brick color would look best if the windows are changed to new white or new black. I am also open to painting soffit/fascia/gutters. Thank you everyone!

I would not paint the brick. Why take a maintenance free product and introduce maintenance? Clean up the landscaping and paint the trim.

I dont think the roof goes with the brick. I would keep the brick, and plan on changing the roof in the future. For now, some nice landscaping would update the appearance of the house.

Shutters are too small for the windows and I think they don’t add much. My suggestion is the paint the house all bright white…B.M.Super White. Leave the brick as is and paint the door B.M. Somerville Red. I woud most definitely power wash the roof (carefully).

My house was built in the late 70's and has an outdated tan brick front while the rest of the house is cedar wood siding. As you can see the house is currently painted one color and is boring. I would really like my house to tastefully pop in the neighborhood. I would welcome suggestions because I am at a lost. Bought 3 years earlier.

Nice home. Would not paint the brick. The shades-of-brown roof you have works with the brick but so would a shades-of-gray colored roof.

If the roof color is the one that will stay, you might consider painting the fascia and gutter a shade of brown color common to both brick and roof.

Might consider some landscaping changes. You can make the front entry of your home its focal point rather than the surrounding brick.

You could add pavers to outline your sidewalk and/or plant low growing plants, such as liriope (if it grows well in your planting zone) to outline one or both sides of your sidewalk.

If you use stone or faux stone for the outline pavers, you could continue that look around the entry door. Rather than paint the brick at the entry, you could cover the brick beneath your portico or porch immediately around the door with siding or a faux stone to get a look you find appealing.

Strategically placed shrubs and hedges can minimize the visual impact of an exterior wall with less potential for damaging the house.

Large trees too close to the ho use can result in root damage to the foundation or having the tree or its limbs.

During the cold weather of winter is the time to move trees ... when the sap is down -- to save any you move with your new landscaping -- but in a new location.

Will Aucuba bushes, which keep their leaves and look good year round, grow well in your planting zone?
