Sofa for dark blue leather club chairs...
Comments (5)I personally think it would be too much leather. We have a leather sofa ( great for kids, grown-up kids, & dogs ) but I have a mix of upholstered chairs in my den. I did not buy them all together but since I basically have used the same colors thru out my house - it works, I guess. It takes away from the look that I went & bought the set at the local furniture store at the same time. I do think it is wise to stay with a more neutral sofa - doesn't have to be solid but a nice tweed that brings all the colors together or subtle stripe/check. Then you can always bring in bolder fabrics in with your pillows & maybe one of your accent chairs. Here is a pic of my den (also with a Karastan rug)Of course some things have changed from this pic!! I had my pillows made with 2 fabrics so I can flip them - on the other side is a khaki linen that I use in the summer..... Smiles:)...See MoreWant to help me pick out DR chairs?
Comments (46)Update...head now split wide open, brains oozing on the floor. I have, however, figured out why I'm obsessing over the chairs. It dawned on me last night, that when I'm sitting on the family room sofa watching TV or whatever with DH, the DR table is in my full view. Straight through the kitchen, the first thing you see is the table. The pic doesn't show it well but my view is to the left of the fridge, smack into the table base. When TV is boring (which it usually is) I just think about the DR and give DH an elbow and ask him "watcha think about x, y or z?". Believe me, nobody will be happier when I'm done with this than he will. :) Les put the kibosh on the chairs that most were leaning toward. The chairs that come with the table are wooden cane back that cost about a grand a pop. Maybe I'll just have DH drive me around Chicagoland over the holidays (he gets almost two weeks off) and hit all the stores. Great advice about sitting in a chair in person to get the feel. I want this decided before we leave for Italy next month....See MoreRemember when I was looking for pillows for my new green leather sofa?
Comments (15)Another fan of the turkish rug cover! Also the vintage-ish PB covers. I'll have to run out to the outlet and see if they have any. Sometimes they have items that are no longer stocked in the catalog. And hey-- did you ever get that long shallow horchow piece for the tv console?...See MoreHelp picking a new sofa
Comments (15)Consider what you already have and given the flooring, rug and wall color, don’t suggest camel. Also with already three shades (couch, chairs, ottoman), I’d opt to complement one of them and suggest the chairs. Try C&B as they offer lots of styles, sizes, colors and fabrics. https://www.crateandbarrel.com/gather-sofa/s536904 Suggestions around balancing room, I’d pull couch out from wall, remove side tables and move your console behind it (edit accessories and add your beige lamp), then add your canoe art above and complementary cushions. Try ottoman in front of fireplace, remove bench in corner and place your plant there. You could use the pictures from other wall and create a collage around TV. The most important addition will be a large square coffee table, which will be practical but will also really help to connect the seating....See Moreeverdebz
